Favourite Christmas songs |
|
What are people#s favourite christmas songs?
For me it has to be The Pogues and Kirsty McColl, with Fairytale of New York. Fantastic song, and I love to sing along.
I also love some of the golden oldies, in particular "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby.
What about everyone else ?
And which ones drive you crazy and make you want to stab Santa Claus just to make Christmas go away? Anyh particularly bad versions of good songs? I get really annoyed whenever i hear Mariah Carey singing anything at all, but when she sings "All I want for Xmas is you" and there's all thsoe lines about not wanting presents, i just sigh with disbelief as she's such a spoiled diva...

Definately Fairytale in new york! There are all the joyful christmas songs, and then theres this 1. Awsome song! I also love the band aid, do they know its christmas!
There arent really any that I hate tbh. I even love the really cheesy christmas songs!!

Yea I like badn aid as well, I think overall xmas songs get away with being really cheesy and even those of us who are more cynical during the rest of the year get all happy and tolerant and get into the mood of it...

I like the Stop the Cavalry one. Is that what it's called?! I forget. Also, yeah the Pogues are good! And T-Rex, Christmas Bop. (it might not be called that!!) As you can tell I'm terrible with the names of these things!

I know the cavalry one you mean Em_J, that's a decent song too, not sure of the TRex one, but will keep my ears open for it! I'm not great with names either, in general, but I seem to remember xmas song titles better, maybe cos they're usually repeated over and over and over again in the songs...not that I mind, once we're into december.
