Ok, not really something you can follow, like football, but tis another thing I kinda get obsessed over!!
Some of you know already that I used to do Karate (wado ryu style) but I stopped going last september cos I'm a pauper! But I was just about to be graded for my purple. (goes: white, red, yellow, orange, green, blue, purple, brown, black!) But I'd love to do kung fu, cos I'm more about kicking, I'm a crap puncher (though my uppercut is pretty good!!) Or also at my old club they were starting a weapons specialist class that I would've loved!! Love playing with weapons! I own a katana, some nunchakus and a pair of escrima sticks. Bloody good with a pair of escrima sticks actually, if I do say so meself!!

I don't know what they are but it sounds scary enough that I don't want to get into an argument with you any time soon!
I never did any martial arts, my brother did karate for a while but I don't think he went beyond the white belt, he didn't want to do the competitions.
Do you find it gives you confidence if you're walking down a dark street at night and stuff? That you would know how to hurt someone if you had to? Or does it not work like that?

Yeah definitely! With the style of karate I was doing, it was more about working with using people's sizes against them and stuff, I'm able to throw blokes to the floor (I mean that in a non-kinky way!) And we were taught how to deal with attackers with knifes and being grabbed from behind and stuff. Reckon I can handle myself!!

The closest I'm came to Martial arts was roundhouse kicking someone from my days at school, knocked three of his teeth out and got an ear lashing from his mother.

Cool! I'd say that's a great feeling!
And Xarca, three of the guy's teeth? You bully!

I love the roundhouse kick! My special move was the spinning back kick. Looked very very cool!! And any sort of jumping kick at all I like! I really miss karate.

I know I felt awful. I did pick one of his teeth up for him though.

You picked up one of his teeth?
You can't go back Em? Could you teach a beginners class or something to help pay for your own lessons or something?

I could go back, reckon they'd be pretty surprised to see me though, kinda flounced out of a couple of lessons when I was bored. If you don't keep me entertained, that's what happens!! Maybe when I have more money I'll be able to go back. Think you have to be a black belt to be allowed to teach.

Ah okay, suppose that makes sense really that you have to be black belt.

He had a older brother so it was my first reaction to pick it up for him.

Nice Karate moves Xarca!
I started Kung Fu a while back against the advice of my physio who told me that I'd do myself a damage (stupid freak joints I have!) .
I really enjoyed it and kicking the hell out of a punchbag really helped my stress levels ! Until the fateful day I tore a ligament in my shoulder smacking the punchbag too hard, oops...haven't been back since...should have listened to the quack ...
