S05E01 - Because you left

I just watched the ep...

I guess I was pleasantly surprised. It didn't blow my socks off or anything, but it wasn't the Jack-fest that I had been expecting. The off-island stuff was slotted in quite well with the island stuff and mainly involved Hurley and Sayid, which was a lot more interesting than the focus being on Jack and Kate, as it has been for pretty much the whole of the last season.

Sawyer strutting around shirtless for the whole episode was definately a good thing, although I wasn't convinced at all by his mini-breakdown at the end, it was awkwardly done , like they wanted to remind us that he's actually quite a nice bloke really - it could have been done a lot more subtley.

I'm liking Daniel more, and Miles (keep wanting to spell that with a Y Laughing

) is still very cool. I'm glad they were a big part of the episode - although Charlotte irritates me.

Sun becoming a hard-nosed businesswoman was also not entirely convincing, mainly because she looked terrified all the time she was on screen! So I'm not sure how good that storyline will be. Looks like Jin's dead though Sad

I was hoping he might appear on the beach or somthing...

I'm not sure about the Locke/Richard storyline yet, I'm reserving judgement on that until it makes more sense Laughing

So, not an amazing start, but not the total letdown I was expecting! Anybody agree/disagree?

Meh. Was alright. I wanted to punch Jack every time he was on, but luckily he wasn't on too much!! I don't really like the time travel stuff. How come the island moved in time, all their stuff moved in time, other people (Ethan) moved in time, and yet those lot didn't? Stupid. Also didn't like the several 'there isn't enough time to explain' lines, well if you stopped saying that and just explained... Gah. Also, knives in the dishwasher?! Who packs them like that?! Sawyer needs a visit to the gym methinks, those are some very impressive love handles... Also wanted Charlotte to claw his eyes out the way he spoke to her. Still love Myles. Love Desmond, he's by far the most interesting person in the whole thing now. Dan's ok. Hate the fact that apparently the only thing to save the island is Jack and co. Rolling Eyes

I was also pleasantly surprised! (only seen the first one so far). Definitely better than I was expecting anyway.

I thought the knives in the dishwasher scene was great! Laughing

But then I love Sayid kicking arse scenes.

Overall, not too much Jack (though yeah, it is annoying that he's still in saviour mode) and they are covering what happened on the island which is what I wanted to know.

I love the time travel stuff! Think the reason they don't move is they aren't tied to the island the same way the Others are...though maybe that doesn't make sense either as Juliet was one of them ...something to do with constants, like they have no constant, whereas the other people do? - maybe the time travel thing explains why Richard never ages though, which would be cool.

I have to admit that when i was waiting to watch this episode i wasn't really expecting that much, but i'm glad to say that i was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it.
The time travel stuff was awesome and i really liked that element of the episode.

Sayid in his kick ass mode is always good to watch hehehe the same with shirtless Sawyer Smile

i have to admit that this was one of my favorite scenes of the episode hahaha
