Name: Melissa McKenna

Age: 23

Occupation: Singer and waitress

Height and Weight: 5'11,10 stone (140 lb)

Life Before Crash: Melissa was recently in an accident in which both her parents died and her older sister was injured. The sister, Cassie, lies in a coma in a Sydney hospital. Melissa isn't sure yet what she wants to do in life, she works as a waitress in a posh restaurant but enjoys singing and sometimes makes a bit of money on the side by singing with a band in clubs around Sydney. She's never had much luck with relationships and now spends all her free time at her sister's bedside, reading her books, newspapers and magazines.

Personality: Shy when meeting new people in normal circumstances but able to take charge in a crisis. She is still working out who she is and after the last few months is feeling very strung out and tired and stressed and desperate so is likely to be a bit snappy if people are slower to react than she is. When she is calmer she's a good listener but can be prone to complaining herself. She is practical and has no time for messers and time-wasters and can be quite nasty and cutting in her remarks when she gets snappy and annoyed, but when she forms a friendship will stick loyally to that bond.

Reason for being on flight: Her parents' life assurance money just came through and she was flying to America to try to get a famous neurologist to take a look at her sister's case as the doctors in Australia are starting to talk about turning the life support machines off but she is convinced that there's a chance she'll wake up.

Occupation : Freelance IT Analyst

Life before Crash : Has a well paid respectable day job and gives her clients the impression of being grounded and settled, but spends her evenings partying wildly and taking stupid risks. She drives too fast, drinks too much and thinks she's indestructible.

Personality: Very confident , to the point of arrogance, reasonably fearless but is terrified of spiders. Says exactly what she thinks which often alienates her from the crowd. She does have a caring side but she hides it under a very prickly exterior. Hates stupidity and vanity. Can be confrontational, fiercely protective of anyone she becomes friends with.

Reason for being on flight : Got wasted, bought a ticket online and thought it'd be fun to go. She's spent the last two weeks wandering round Sydney feeling very alone, but pretending she's having the time of her life.

Name: Alexander Cortishane (real name Alan Pratt)

Occupation: Actor. (More of an extra really!)

Life Before Crash: He's from England but he lived with a group of jobbing actors in LA. He was hoping to make it big in some sort of American tv drama but never really got the break. His American accent is terrible and his acting isn't all that great though he thinks it is. He had a part time job as a shampooist.

Personality: Full of himself. Thinks he's the best actor in the world. He also tends to 'bend the truth' a lot, thinking that it helps him with his acting skills. He's cocky and thinks he's God's gift to women. He loves looking at himself in a mirror and isn't afraid of male grooming products. He doesn't like ugly people or dirt. He's scared of pretty much all bugs.

Reason For Being On Flight: Went to an audition in Sydney but didn't get the job.

Name: Axel Merces

Age: 24

Gender: Male

Occupation: Freelance photojournalist

Height + Weight: 6’2, 12 stone

Life Before Crash: Axel is a freelance photojournalist who’s main priority is making money. He blackmailed his own father for something which resulted in his father eventually going to prison. Axel himself has also done time behind bars for dodgy things he’s done in the past. His sister is also a reporter who was far more skilled than Axel himself, but one story changed all that and she’s now out of a job.

Personality: Lazy, he doesn’t want to participate into anything unless there’s something to gain from it, he’ll complain constantly about being tired and winds people up. He is however very intelligent, although he doesn’t seem to be doing much he keeps a good eye on everyone around him.

Selfish, calm and laid back, carries his trusty camera around with him to take pictures of anything he can get money for. But he’s more interested in lying down and chewing or smoking. He also keeps a log of events that happen, but he keeps it well hidden.

He’s sneaky too, if he does see a opportunity to frame someone he’ll take it and blackmail them. If he has to gain someone’s trust then he’ll do that before stabbing them in the back.

He’s not all bad however, he can be helpful when the situations right. The Island may change his outlook on life. . .

Reason for being on Island: He was recruited by the Others about tenyears ago as he was a top American Brain surgeon. He's been on the island since.

Personality: Tim is friendly and loyal, but can be impulsive at times. He genuinely believes in what the Others are doing, but has found it hard being on his own for the last eight months or so. He can be headstrong at times, and moody, but doesn't tend to let things get him down much. In ideal circumstances he's an easygoing guy.

Life Before Crash: Leader of the Others. General evil doing, crazy experiments with TVs and mind bending drugs.

Personality:hink Hannibal Lecter (without the cannibl stuff) Urbane, educated, charming. But also cold, calculating and ruthless. He views people as disposable resources, even his own people. Listens to opera, enjoys expensive wine and quotes great literature to make others feel inferior.

Name: Georgia-Rose Harrison

Age: 16 (now 17)

Gender: Female

Occupation: Finished school

Height + Weight: 5.7ft 8st

Life Before Crash: Happy, but poor family. Parents couldn’t afford to send Georgia to college. Has a little brother of age 11 months. Georgia constantly tries to help the family. She never really had time for friends.

Personality: Quiet and kind, used to small amounts, (being poor and all) very grateful, very smart; spends all her time reading in the library when she’s not helping out at home. (Quite Matilda-like.)

Reason For Being On Flight: Went to visit rich uncle in Australia to ask for money, was on her way home to tell her parents the news when she got side-tracked. . .

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Occupation: Spent whole life on island so doesn’t have a proper job; helps out on the island.

Height + Weight: 5.9ft 11st – strong, well built lad; quite slim but strong for his size.

Life Before Crash: Grew up on the island with his dad (Harry) and mum (Helen) until she died a year ago. Up to a year ago, Will used to live in Othersville with Luke although the two never really go on. Will often tried to escape from Othersville and explore the island but only succeeded a few times. A year ago, Will left Luke and moved to the Observatory with his dad, Harry and a few others.

Personality: Strong and confident, knows the island well and loves living there, although sometimes he wishes that he could see the world. He’s smart and able to handle tricky situations and react fast.

Name: Chloe Dubois

Age: 36

Reason for being on flight: She was visiting an old school friend in Sydney while on a career break.

Life before crash: Chloe was a teacher in a high school in a troubled area of New Orleans for the last ten years. She loved her work but found it challenging. After Hurricane Katrina during which her home and all her possessions were destroyed she decided to take a bit of a break from things and see a bit of the world while she can, it reminded her that life is too short.

Personality: Chloe used to be strict and bossy as she had to be in school and sometimes that side of her personality comes out still. In general though she's a lot more relaxed, she knows she's lucky to be alive and is out to enjoy life as much as she can, though she's too responsible to just do what she likes all the time she does enjoy having fun as well. She came out age 16 and has never really been all that interested in men, she has had male friends but has never been attracted to them. She spent a long time having to justify herself and her choices to her family and is all the stronger for it, she doesn't take crap from people lightly and sticks up for what she believes in.

Reason for being on flight : He was visiting an ancient spiritual site in Australia after feeling an overwhelming pull to go at that exact time.

Personality : Calm, tolerant and spiritual. Reuben keeps himself to himself, preferring to stay out of the camp politics and concentrate on learning more about the environment they've found themselves in. He has a fondness for tie dye and could tell many colourful stories about what he got up to in the 60s and 70s. He has a huge knowledge of nature and uses that to his advantage....

Age: 19 (mental age 12)

Gender: Female

Occupation: Student

Height + Weight: 5’6” 113 lbs

Life Before Crash: The worst cheerleader in the state of California, most of the people in her high school had to change schools or relocate completely as Charity irritated them completely with her motor mouth and non stop clinging onto people she liked, though she has no idea she’s so irritating.

Her parents wanted to give her up but no one would have her. She drove the team’s star football player into to killing himself after one date.

Personality: Not a bad bone in her body but she can be extremely obsessive and possessive. She’s extremely dumb, forgetful and careless but at the same time she thinks she’s being helpful. No one dares criticises her because she becomes extremely over emotional to the slightest bit of criticism and cries and cries and cries. . .and if she’s even more upset she’ll end up going on a temper tantrum. She’s also very deluded whatever is going on in real life is seen completely different in her eyes.

Name: Dolph Cortez

Occupation: Othersville security guard/weapon specialist/field operative

Life Before Crash: Served as a police officer for 4 years, then his work and commitment finally got him a job as chief of security at a government facility. Then one night he ended up in a bar fight with a photojournalist he didn’t know the name of ending up with him hurting the man badly. The photojournalist then managed to destroy his marriage life with Dolph’s wife Ashley, Dolph’s life was then ruined. He retorted to drink, drugs and attempted suicides he couldn’t go through with. To top it off he lost his job and spent the next year of his life, with no money and no desire to live. He was about to go through with killing himself when he got a phone call that would change his life forever.
He was offered a job as a weapon specialist/security guard in an unknown location. He was offered the job because the woman who had it before him had gotten pregnant, he was confused at this at first because he thought the woman could return to work after the pregnancy. Upon meeting the contacts he accepted the job relieved he could get his life on track, he was told he’d be working under the name of a man named Luke and was asked to voluntarily take some drugs as he was taken to his new job and new home, on the Island.

He has an rather new apprentice in 25 year old Jill, though they are often at complaints with each other. They work well as a team though.

Personality: Rebellious, he understands orders but does not always follow them in the way he is supposed to.
Fussy, he complains a lot that he hates his job and things bother him quite easily.
He’s also very into his weapons, rifles, gas canisters and handguns and he loves a challenge
Very skilled in hand to hand combat.
Also appears to have watched too many action films, as he quotes a lot of catchphrases from films.

Reason for being on flight: Was not on flight.

Name: Isabella Roberts

Age: 27

Gender: Female

Occupation: Riding instructor

Height + Weight: 5ft7 slim.

Life Before Crash: She's orignally from a well-off family in England, her father is a Lord. She moved to Sydney four years ago and set up her own riding stables where she teaches kids to ride ponies. Had trouble affording to keep her stables after her father stopped sending her money so she turned to dodgy dealings to fund her stables. Likes yoga and meditation.

Personality: Intelligent. Manipulative. Smug. Calm. Likes to be in control.

Reason For Being On Flight: Was flying to LA to meet friends for her birthday, which was a couple of days after the crash.

Name: Katherine Ackerman

Age: 28

Gender: Female

Occupation: Factory worker, sewing machinist.

Height + Weight: 5ft5 slightly overweight.

Life Before Crash: From Ontario, Canada. She lived with her parents still, her father’s overbearing and disapproving but she loves him greatly. She only ever wanted to make him happy. She was teased and belittled a lot about her weight and she hates being the size she is. Spent quite a bit of money on different diets and weight watching clubs, nothing worked. Had a fairly quiet life.

Personality: Nervous, although she’ll hit people who call her fat. Friendly. Greedy.

Reason For Being On Flight: Was in Sydney trying a new weight watching programme, was then on her way to LA to try a new regime there.

Name: Kazuki Miyazaki

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Occupation: Student

Height and weight: 5'6" slim build

Life before crash: From Hokkaido, Japan. Lived with his parents, older brother and three younger sisters. Studied art and history. Is a martial artist. Spent some time street-fighting with his older brother.

Personality: Cheerful. Polite. Sometimes over-confident. Naieve.

Name: Maggie Witherall [M.N - Spencer]

Age : 54

Occupation : Unemployed

Gender : Female

Height & Weight : 5ft6 , quite slim & nimble for her age

Life before Crash : Married at an early age to a 'friend of the family' but has never been happy since. Was planning to go to university after high school to train to be a primary school teacher but once she was married, her husband 'adviced' her not to work. Wanted children - husband didn't.

Personality: Confidence is hidden inside a shy exterior which was brought on by her bosy and overcaring husband. Never had the chance to express herself. Spends her time caring for others without becoming to involved and her only skills that she knows of are how to do housework.

Reason for being on flight : Her husband had a business opportunity in L.A and as usual, Maggie had to go where he went. Her husband died in the plane crash.

Name: Rosa Cabrera

Age: 33

Height& Weight: 5 foot nothing, curvy

Occupation: She qualified as a geneticist and worked for a high-profile pharmaceutical company in the US before coming to the island to work as part of Luke's team. In the company, she was involved in some highly unethical practises including industrial espionage and manipulation of genes in embryos as well as the development of drugs that activate and deactivate certain types of genes.

Personality: Highly focussed on her work, Rosa is very intelligent, and completely committed to the research and projects she is part of on the island. She sees people as essentially flawed and weak and has dedicated her life to "improving the human race"; or creating a new hybrid race of superhumans. She has very little regard for people in general, the only people she has ever respected are Luke and her former boss at the pharmaceutical company. She sees everyone else as a potential subject for research or experimentation. This leads her to be generally dismissive of people, though for research purposes she is intrigued by them, constantly analysing them, and she lacks some social graces (though she would not see that as a flaw) so she sometimes tells people how she could improve them.

History: Rosa was recruited by Luke four years ago and is highly committed to the project. Has clashed with Tim in the past over the ethics of what was being done. Her current project on embryos has come to a (successful) conclusion and she is waiting to be assigned to a new task. Having learned there was a plot against Luke, she is determined to make sure that everyone else in the village is loyal to him and the work being done there.

Name:Lucia Joan Hawkins

Age: 25

History & Personality: Lucia was born and grew up in Tampa Bay Florida, she began helping out charities at a very early age and continued even in her adult days. However when she was older she moved to England where she studied at Cambridge in Business Management. It wasn't long before she got her Degree and returned to the US. Here she joined a large fashion company. Her dedication to the job and skills soon became very apparent, she grew through the ranks, she also became the office Health and Safety specialist. However not everyone was all too pleased, the close bond and rumoured relationship between Lucia and the owner of the company caused friction amongst Lucia and colleges. It would eventually come to life that the rumours were valid, whats more Lucia was proposed to by the owner and she agreed to wed.

This angered several workers and the business itself was on the verge of ruins. The owner acted upon this and immeadiately fired Lucia from her management job with promise that another company was going to be created and Lucia would have a big hand in it. For the meanwhile Lucia remained at home and eventually married the owner. However even after the marrage Lucia remained home as housewife, there looked to be no change at all in the new company being produced. Lucia felt quite weak and unportant, as time went on she was seeing less and less on her husband. One day a set of events happened which resulted in Lucia leaving her husband, they were soon devorced and Lucia moved elsewhere. Her family did not want anything to do for her for leaving a man who was so rich and successful.

She moved to new york and became a receptionist at a hospital, she was happy with her work and had met a new man who she agreed to marry. However she later realised she didn't love him, however she kept this secret as she was too embarssed with everyone going through so much for her. The ceremony was to take place on a boat that was crusing along the coasts of Austrailia her fiances homeland. It was all going fine until Lucia began her vows, it was at that point she couldn't take it any longer and annouced she couldn't marry. Soon after this the boat they were sailing on got out of control, Lucia fell overboard. . .

Update

In her life Lucia has experienced many hardships, from living on the streets to losing a friend in an accident. However earlier in the year she experienced the trauma of recieving a blood clot in her brain close to vitals. She was told by doctors that they couldn't put a time scale on long she would live but that she was dying and that some time in the future she would go to sleep and not wake up. Only a few people in Lucia's life is aware of this that doesn't include any member of her family.

Nationality: French - speaks good English

Height & Weight : 5ft8 – Good figure

Appearance : has the look of a blonde-bimbo which hides her true talents & intelligent – could pass for a model although she would never consider it

Personality : Has good etiquette. Extremely hard-working and committed although she doesn’t always get the acknowledgement for it. Knows to respect her peers & higher authorities. Is keen to learn and always looking for a chance to impress. Strong character when needed, but mostly hides behind the figures she looks up to.

Life before Island : Grew up in northern France being looked after by the housekeeper. Mother was french, father English. Her parents had extremely busy jobs so she didn’t receive much ‘hands-on’ parenting. At the age of 18 she moved to Paris to try and earn a living for herself. Her parents laughed at her as they told her she couldn’t succeed without their money. She failed in getting a well-paid job due to her ‘model’ appearance – no one believed she was intelligent.

Reason for being on island : She was becoming tired of ‘making-it-on-her-own’ when she met a guy who worked for Luke. They became close and he offered her a job to show her potential on the island. She took the job at the age of 22 and has been studying science under the supervision of experts for the past 3 years. She has yet to pick a specialty.

Here's Adam's slightly belated bio!

Name : (Elliott) Adam Frost

Age : Early 30s

Gender : Male

Occupation : Othersville spy and scientist, also general plotting.

Height/Weight : 6ft 4ins . Well built.

Life pre-crash : Adam was one of Luke’s employees. He worked in the research centre closely with Rachel, with whom he was having a relationship.

Whilst feigning loyalty to Luke he was actually plotting to kill him and along with several others, take over management of the village. He was double-crossed by Rachel who was loyal to Luke and informed him of the plan led by Adam.

Luke punishment involved all of the plotters ending up at the research centre, all of them but Adam “disappeared” . It is still unknown as to whether they are dead or still somewhere in the research centre.

Luke subjected Adam to a research procedure that wiped his memory completely. Adam has been gaining insights into his past life bit by bit, but there are still large chunks missing. He has no idea how he came to be in the island, who his parents were or any of his childhood.

Personality : Arrogant, charismatic and reckless. Uses his charm to get on people’s good side and hide his almost complete absence of morals. Not particularly vain, but does enjoy being the centre of attention.

He is extremely ruthless and will kill if the end justifies the means, even if it means harming someone close to him . He is attracted to strong women who are similar to him (a little unhinged) . He has nothing but scorn for decent people and sees emotional attachment as a weakness rather than a strength, which is why he hates himself for falling for Izzy.

He is scared of doctors, hospitals ,snakes and is particularly terrified of closed doors. He can also be petulant and child-like when things are not going his way. Tends towards hypochondria when injured.

Life Before Island: Into general dodgy dealings, mostly theft. French father, English mother.

Personality: Unfazed and not bothered by most things. Loyal to Luke ultimately, but also loyal to his family and to a lesser extent, his friends. Fairly lazy, he'll do the job that he's told to do and do it competently, but won't go out of his way to do anything he doesn't have to do. Easy going. Loner.

Reason For Being On Island: Stole the identity of a scientist newly hired by Luke as he needed to disappear for a while. He didn’t realise he’d end up stuck on an island.

Name: Samuel Hunter.

Age: 41

Background: Was in the army since he was 18 and was recruited into Special Forces. Did plenty of covert missions of all sorts. Left when he was 33 to work for a private company that offered him a good salary. Moved up through the ranks of the company from doing security stuff to learning more about what it was up to - he is now deputy head of a division. Volunteered to lead the mission to the island.

Personality: Likes women a little too much as after four marriages, six children and another on the way he's paying out a fortune in child support. Smokes cigars, preferably Cuban. He's from a poor background but has acquired a taste for expensive things. His main motivation for the mission is personal gain, but he's put a lot of effort into the company so he wouldn't be easily bribed or talked round. For all that he's an ex-soldier and well trained in combat, he has no intention of letting himself get killed on this mission so he'll try to keep his team's activities under the radar for as long as possible. Willing to get his hands dirty himself rather than just give out orders. However, if he gives an order he expects it to be carried out and will be ruthless if he's crossed.
