Blimey....it's complex! I might need some advice when I finally get around to self-publishing my poetry!

Yeah that'd be cool, you should do it! Tis free after all. All I've paid is £11 something for the copy so I could see what it looked like! I love doing it, I'm looking around for other stuff I can publish! Even if nobody buys it!

I never really thought of self publishing up until recently! Although I think I'd be a bit wierded about loads of other people reading my poems - it's different when its on writeright and stuff, but if its a book then people from my office or something might read them, argh!

Yeah but all your stuff's good so you shouldn't worry! Though I was looking at something I'd written and was wondering whether to make a book of short pieces... then I wasn't sure if I'd like people I know reading it!

Thanks! It's easier showing people fictional stuff I find, showing them anything that has anything to do with my feelings makes me want to curl up into a little ball and cringe

Yeah me too. I avoid all that stuff! At least I don't do poetry so it's ok.

Cool pen name RWG!
Is ISBN that complicated? I thought you could buy 6 of them for about $75....I don't think you can just buy one, though if you go through the publishing company they probably by them in bulk so you could through them - might be better to do it yourself if it is still that price and then if you did make changes you'd have spares....

Yeah you can't buy just one. It's £59 to get it from Lulu so I'll just do that. I did look elsewhere and it looked quite expensive.

International standard book number. So it can be sold in shops and whatnot.

Ah right, so you don't need one of them to publish online but you need one for the shops?

You don't need one to sell it from Lulu marketplace which is mine at the mo, but you'll need it for shops and Amazon and libraries and all that sort of stuff. Because the selling price changes and that I think. The number identifies the book, the publisher and the version I think... Could be wrong!

Yeah I ignored that bit! All you have to do with Lulu is say you want to buy a distribution package. Then they'll assign you your ISBN and depending on what type of book cover you have, they'll put it on your book for you.

Paperback version now available: http://www.trafford.com/06-0732
Though the hardback version is better and they're both about the same price. The paperback version is available online pretty much anywhere now!
UPDATE
Now for sale on ebay for £2!! Bargain eh? (I'm also selling some other stuff on ebay, so have a look!)
