SWP has more heart at least, Robben hasn't played like he wants to be there in over a year. I don't know a lot about Malouda but hopefully he'll be a good addition.

So, Chelsea got Malouda, Robben is reported to be having talks with Real Madrid, Bellamy went to West ham and Nugent is meant to have agreed a deal with Portsmouth - busy day today, I'm looking forward to having a read of the gossip tomorrow morning!

One of the first things I do when I wake up is read the text for transfer news. Love the transfer talk just wish they got rid of the transfer window and that stupid new system for loans.

Yeah I tend to read the teletext gossip pages while I'm having my morning coffee, it's always great to have a laugh first thing in the morning! Laughing

For loans now teams have to loan that player for the WHOLE season and their club are unable to call that player back. Its basically a short term transfer, so stupid!

I didn't even know that, seems a bit silly - they should really sort out the rules they already have and make them work right before they introduce a pile of new ones....

I see Real Madrid signed Saviola on a free from Barca as well and Liverpool are meant to have agreed a fee with West Ham for Benayoun.

Well Portsmouth have signed Nugent so that's one saga that's over at least....

I saw on text earlier that Arsenal are still being linked with Martins....but then there's still rumours over Wenger's future as well so not much seems to be happening there really.

I think it was mentioned again in the Daily Mail, though I can't see it happening now.

I think I read a rumour last week that Wenger had until friday this week to sign a new contract or Arsenal were going to say byebye to him? Even if he does stay on for another year till his contract runs out the arsenal board might not want to let him spend major money if he's not going to be there long term.

Owen has finally said he's staying at Newcastle yet it barely reaches the back page, I think reporters are quiet bored with the saga over his future tbh. That and they are so pro London teams.

He should sign a two year extension to his contract and disgard the release clause if he's really commited I reckon. Though he says the club has massive potental at the moment and he wants to help us realise it, which is what I like to hear.

Yeah, I heard that this morning, I suppose it's a step in the right direction as you say, if not a total indication of commitment, better than saying nothing.

Looks like Robben is off to Madrid - bye bye, don't let the door hit your arse on the way out I say! He's a good player but he hasn't been interested in playing for Chelsea in the last two seasons, maybe the injuries demoralised him but he doesn't seeem like he wants to be there so it's time for a change, there's talk of bringing in Drenthe though so I don't know what that means for SWP, I'd like to see him stay personally and given some games but he keeps being linked with Villa, Spurs and West Ham plus a return to City.

Other recent transfer gossip seems to suggest that Martins turned down Arsenal, that Fabregas opted to stay there instead of go to Real Madrid, Man City are being linked with loads of players on the continent, most of whom I've never heard of, Cannavaro turned down Chelsea (which is fair enough, he's good but he's getting old and we have three great defenders now) and Chelsea are being linked alternately with Chimbonda of Spurs and Alves of Sevilla in the search for a right-back.

Transfer gossip will be heating up again now with the window due to open in January....Chelsea are being linked with every striker that's scored more than two goals this season as far as I can see Razz

Plenty of teams will be looking for cover for the African nations Cup though, and there's bound to be a few interesting deals! Very Happy
