For the most part in this new series we seem to be learning more about the Others, which is fantastic, but there are many other mysteries to Lost.

Which would you like to learn more about next?

For me it has to be the Monster

After seeing it in the very first episode we don't know much more about it - it has only hurt the pilot, no one else, which makes me curious, although after Locke seemed to make friends with it or whatever he did when he stared into it it was going to drag him off down a hole in the season 1 finale.

Eko stared into it and we seemed to catch a glimpse of images from his past - was it reading his mind?

Danielle referred to it as the Security System - what does it protect - the island? was that why it killed the Pilot, for bringing people there, did it interpret the crash as an act of war? If so why did it wait until Kate, Jack and Charlie went out to the cabin, why didn't it just kill him earlier?

It makes a metallic noise and it hums, sometimes seems invisible or camouflaged, other times appears as black smoke. It can knock down trees but also seems to be able to move swiftly and silently.

My guess is that it was some kind of weapon developed and tested on the island in the days of Alvar Hanso (he was a weapons magnate after all and something like that would have been worth plenty of money) possibly in conjunction with a government - maybe America, Australia or South Korea, as they are the nations represented by the Losties. Also because the numbers transmission picked up by Leonard when he was in the navy doesn't seem to have been acted upon in any way (and as Danielle changed the transmission afterwards and no one picked it up no one seems to be listening anymore)so this suggests those higher up already knew about the island and what was /is going on there.

Definately the disease - it's taken a back seat recently and I hope the writers will give us some clues soon!!!

Anyone else have any thoughts on what they would like to learn more about in the second part of season 3?

its got to be danielle. she is so mysterious i would love to learn her back story; find out what she has 2 do with the others, how alex came about and her relationship with ben. that would make for interesting viewing!

I think learning more about the mysterious statue will give us more insight as to everything else on the island. Although I am curious about the monster, I'm sure its true nature will be revealed in time. The statue, however, is something the writers could explain quickly and easily, simply by having the Losties stumble across an old scroll or something.

I think it could tie in with the old pirate ship thingy. They never really did explore the cabins or anything, just a quick dive underneath to grab the dynamite. Someone should really go back to it and snoop around some more.
