supersperm and miscarriages....i wonder if the cause of the increased sperm count is related to (or the same as) the cause of the miscarriages in the women... if these are super-charged sperm, could they not be compatible with the common egg of the female?
just a thought...
also... could the gas that ben released have left some kind of residual (mutated or not) that causes the miscarriages? .. and the supersperm...
could the cure then be with the sperm and not within the female?

That's an interesting theory - or theories!
Regards the first, I thought that the sperm count was higher, but I don't know if there was any reference to the actual sperm being any different? More of them wouldn't by itself mean there was anything different about them?
As for the second, I suppose it depends on whether the problem existed before the gas was released as well, and in theory at least I'd say it's possible that there is a connection between the two, but I wonder if it's also somehting to do with the ageing - if people don't get older then maybe the lack of children is to compensate for that, no one dies of old age but no one can reproduce at the same time, so no chance of overpopulation?

at first i thought all that elctro magnetic waves or energies surrounding the island must have sumin to do with it but the theories u'v suggested are interesting.

I know, the targets adverts are brilliant, considering some of the things that are spoken about here when we're discussing Lost or playing in the RPG, the ads can be truly hilarious!

LL... I don't know that I'd be able to go with the SUPER SPERM part of it. I agree from a post up above that it's just more of the rascals. Not anything special about them.
I can see that the gas could have effected thim in some way. he could have unknowingly have killed off (over time I supose because of the aging) the natives/original people of the island.
