Stupid xray machines...from The vancouver sunHONOLULU (AP) - Film from ABC's hit show "Lost" was ruined when airport security screeners accidentally X-rayed film canister containers. The TV crew had to reshoot, at a cost the producers would not mention. The loss will not affect the broadcast schedule for the popular show filmed in Hawaii, co-executive producer Jean Higgins told The Honolulu Advertiser newspaper. The incident occurred when the film canisters, sent as cargo, were mistakenly mixed with passenger luggage and sent through an X-ray machine at Honolulu International Airport. Having to reshoot is a monumental issue, said Anne Misawa, a local film producer and instructor at the University of Hawaii Academy for Creative Media. The cost for a commercial alone could easily top US$100,000. I wonder if anyone got fired for this? |
