SpooksAny fans of Spooks on here? I think it is up there with 24 as an action packed, intriguing spy-drama with top characters and great writing. It's on BBC1 at 9pm monday nights, if you haven't seen it I would recommend checking it out.
It centres around an MI5 team working to combat terrorism but it manages to avoid being cliched and propagandist by having a good balance of conspiracy.
the main characters are
Harry Pearce - top dude, he liaises betwen his team and the government plus other agencies like MI6 and the CIA.
Adam - Head of this team, he makes the calls and does a good job but he has heartbreak behind him, his wife was killed by terrorists in the last series and he is now bringing up his son alone (the little boy who plays him is so cute)
Ruth - head computer geek she is great at digging out information, a bit like Chloe in 24, she has also developed feelings for Harry of late but is afraid to go for it with him.
Jo - recruited by Adam in the last series, she's an up and coming kick-ass spy.
Zaff - of asian origin he often gets sent undercover with groups of Islamic terrorists but can also coordinate an operation and is good with the technology too.
A new character has been introduced, can't remember her name, played by Hermione Norris (Cold feet, Wire in the Blood), she is good so far but haven't made up a proper opionion yet.
Probbaly realistically enough I think there is a big turnaround, I miss Fiona, Zoe, Danny and Tom but the new additions are successful. Long may it continue!
