save john locke!!!

it occurred to me as i woke up, that , if cooper is killed, locke has no more back stories.... they wouldn't kill off my man, would they????

my stomach is tied up in knots thinking about this....
April_Rose

Locke still has the fact the island cured him though, that's still a big issue, I don't think they'll kill him off, interesting point though!
lockeslady

eko was tied to the island and they killed him... i so very much hope that john locke lives until the final episode!!
April_Rose

Yeah but apparently the actor who played Mr Eko (i've no idea how to spell his name so I'm not even gona try...)wanted to leave so that was why he was killed off...I think Locke is too important a character, he was one of the first to get a flashback and his tie with the island is very strong...I like him so I hope he isn't killed off, I don't see it happening though.
lockeslady

one can never tell with this show!!!

the word is out that they will announce how many more seasons they will have soon.
April_Rose

yeah, it'll still be subject to change though depending on ratings and stuff I think, they originally wanted seven seasons so that would be four more, but we'll see, yeah you never can tell, I always try to avoid spoilers as I love the surprises!
Jenny*

i try to avoid them too . . . hardly ever succeed Razz
lockeslady

locke will survive! i realised that sawyer is the one at risk now... but they would lose too many viewers if they killed him off... same with locke! i can breathe now!!
April_Rose

They'd better not kill off Sawyer! I don't think they will kill either of them, I'm sure Locke is safe though Very Happy
lockeslady

from msn... locke's fate... btw, terry o'quinn has sold his hawaii home and is living in hotels saying he prefers this lifestyle.... please!!! keep my john locke!!!

Locke's still key to 'Lost' Posted: Wednesday, May 09, 2007 9:58 PM by Gael Fashingbauer Cooper

First off, how stupid would the show have to be to kill off Locke? I'm not buying it. ABC just announced that the show has three more seasons, 48 more episodes to go. Are they going to kill off a character who's been part of the heart of the show since the beginning? Not to mention a character who's been intimately linked to the island's powers in ways that no one else is, and one who's already seen the island heal him from paralysis. If Mystery Island can fix his broken back and withered legs, surely a bullet to the gut is nothing.

Locke has always been different -- from almost the show's premiere, viewers have argued about whether he is good or evil, whether he has the castaways' best interests at heart or only his own, whether he will somehow conquer the mysteries of the island or they will conquer him. Jack was presented as the island's leader, but his goody-two-shoes straightforwardness turned off more than one viewer.

Locke, masterfully played by Terry O'Quinn, managed to always keep fans guessing. His troubled past, his take-charge attitude, and his visible struggles have all fascinated us. Who can't identify, even if just a little bit, with a man who had Walter Mitty-like dreams of strength and success, but in reality, was mocked by jerks at the box company where he worked? To see him discover, once on the island, that his outer strength for once matched his inner abilities, was a smartly developed plot.

For several episodes early in this season, Locke had been underutilized, his character allowed to fade into the background as the Others came to the forefront. Like other fan favorites, including Hurley and Sayid, he was relegated to an occasional witty line or minor scene. And he was missed.

In recent weeks, more of Locke's past has unfolded. Viewers finally learned about how he landed in the wheelchair (no surprise, his evil dad was behind it). And Locke, eerily like creepy Other Ben, managed to get revenge on daddy dearest.

Locke was back this week, however, in an intriguing episode where he got to pound on Other Mikhail, a rather satisfying scene for regular viewers. He also learned, via Ben, that Ben didn't just kill his own father, he led the massacre of the original Dharmans. And the episode tied into Locke's mystery powers, too, when Ben took him to see supposed Other leader, Jacob. In a scene reminscent of HBO's "Carnivale" and its mysterious Management, Jacob at first seemed not to exist. (Eagle-eyed viewers, however, have already snatched screen grabs of a brief moment in which someone did seem to be seated in Jacob's otherwise empty chair.)

But Locke's powers came through again, and he heard a mysterious voice say "help me." His power to hear that didn't please Ben, and the lead Other raised his gun and tried to add John Locke to the pile of Dharma bodies in a creepy mass grave. But this longtime viewer's not buying it. There's no way we've seen the last of John Locke yet.

I was shocked at the end of the episode, but there's no way he's dead. Locke is too important to Lost to kill off.

i do hope this is true... who saves locke? i can see maybe rousseau... or alex... or maybe karl? he has to live... i still shake when i think of this....
April_Rose

Would be interesting if Alex or Karl turned up to save him...seeing as it's Locke I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Smokey had an involvement...or it also could be Richard who seems like he was one of the Others long before Ben and is fascinated by Locke's miraculous cure....

i'v read sumwhere in sum article on lost media that terry o quin sold his house in hawaii, but its been also said that he perfer's living in hotels, i dnt know what to think anymore after watching man behind the curtain im going crazy.
April_Rose

Laughing That's what Lost will do to you! I heard the selling his house story as well but it might not even be true, the makeers of the show like to mess with our heads! I don't believe for a second he's dead!
Guest

damn rite i think hes alive, coz from what i read there's a showdown between jack and locke in season fianle dnt really know maybe they'l leave locke story till season 4.
redwinegoblin

I'd be gutted if it was true. Locke's an awesome character and his connection to the island hasn't been fully explained yet. If they killed him now it'd be cutting off a huge storyline right in the middle of it...which makes me think that he'll be saved by someone, probably Richard...
April_Rose

It'll be interesting all right to see who saves him - Richard might as he seems to be interested in Locke being healed, and sees his leadership qualities - but I also thought maybe Alex might, as she gave Locke the gun for a reason and when Ben comes back alone she might know where to look.
redwinegoblin

Yeah I think Alex is a prety underused character. She was introduced then we got a bit of her story, then nothing for a while. It'd be good if the writers gave her a bit more to do!!
Guest

i think richard could save locke, as hes been getting a fair amount of screen time maybe that cud be a sign i dnt know.
lockeslady

richard....***drool***
April_Rose

Looks like Locke is safe anyway, you got your wish lockeslady! I'm glad as well, he's a great character, was excellent how he was revived though, I didn't know how he was going to get out of it when he had the gun....
Jenny*

yeah i thought for certain he was gonna shoot himself!
April_Rose

Yeah I didn't know who was going to get him out of there as Alex was off with Ben and Richard was taking the rest of them to the Temple whatever that is...and then Walt shows up! I hadn't seen his name on the credits either at the start and I'd avoided spoilers mostly so I didn't know he was going to pop up!
Jenny*

me neither! was a very very good suprise!
