I don't think that suits him but at least he finally will do something important.

I hope the thing important that he has to do is kill Jack, that would make his 3 seasons of boredomness worth while.

I could live with it if he killed Jack - that would be a very noble deed! 
I think Jack will annoy me as well, and I wonder if they will kill Charlie off, maybe someone else will die instead. After all, if this is the time he has to die, then what about all the other times if Desmond hadn't been able to save him? Which he nearly didn't when they were on the way to find Naomi? he thought he was meant to die then as well, so I don't think anything is certain.

If somebody told me 'this time you have to die' I'd be like 'yeah right! I don't think so!' And tell them to sod off, and refuse to do anything! But that's just me!

Well yeah, but you don't live on a strange island surrounded by freaks and smoke monsters and have everyone in the outside world think you're already dead - or do you?

I suppose it depends on what Desmond says will happen if Charlie doesn't die - if he says Claire or Aaron will die instead then Charlie might be willing to make the sacrifice. if he does die I hope his last words are "I'm a bloody rock god!"
