awsome ep so far! Desmond, Charlie + Hurley are great!

I thought it was brill and loved it i never expected any of that or thought how intresting desmond could actually be im glad to of seen more of charlie as well although im really hoping desmond can save charlie or that he is wrong

That was an awesome episode!! I love it when they go for all-out wierdness. Having really not liked Desmond when he was first introduced I really like him as a character now.
Bummer about....

Yeh, I like Desmond alot more now, I wasn't really a fan of him either at the start, but after seeing his 'flashback', he's one of my favourite characters now.
. . . and I still think we should start a 'save Charlie' petition

I did like the London sets. Did they get them on the cheap from the set of a B-movie about Jack-the-Ripper or something?!!! The jewellery shop looked like the place they buy the mogwai from in Gremlins!!!

I did expect the royal family to drive by at one point, or maybe a troupe of chimney sweeps to suddenly start dancing across the roofs. Sadly I was disappointed

last night's epi was excellent! i even enjoyed the flashback without any island interruptions, lol. but i seriously hope charlies isn't gonna die. he's such a sweetie.

quick question: so when desmond was hit on the head with that board, did he lose his precognitive abilities and then regain them when the hatch exploded?

that part is a bit confusing for me...just wondering what everyone else's thoughts on that are

Sorry boondocksaintchk, I'm pretty much as baffled as you!!! I thought the knock on the head brought him back to the island...but then...if it happened when before he was on the island in the first place...agh!! Anyone else want to explain this one?!

thanks for trying to help...Lost is definitely a thinker kind of show. but that's what i love about it. it's nothing that's easy or predictable. i'll be watching the episode again this weekend. maybe then i'll be able to gain a little more insight into that question. then again, maybe it's a mystery that will never be solved

I enjoyed the episode immensely, I'll post my thoughts and understandings of the episode in a little while(I've only just watched it so am still a bit blown away), wow, -what a revelation though! Second time in two episodes I've been reminded of Final destination though (last week was the bus)

I really enjoyed this episode.

I'll start with the end - what a revelation! I was not expecting that! A fantastic "Lost" moment, destined to be a classic I think!

Th extended flashback was great. I don't know if he really was there, back in his old life, I think it was a dream, but a dream that prepared him as much as possible for what was going to happen to him - the flashes of the future. I think he relived those moments in his mind, with the consciousness of what had happened, and found that he felt powerless to change anything in his own life, but when there was another life at stake he decided he had to try - so he tries to save Charlie.

That was the majority of the episode, overall though it was great to see them having a laugh before it got serious, always good to see Charlie and Hurley having a laugh, and maybe now Charlie will stop being annoying (I hate him when he gets all jealous and overprotective of Claire).

Really looking forward to seeing more of how this story pans out!

As far as I could tell, he felt like he was reliving his past but was powerless to change it, which seemed to be preparing him for the fact that he was going to be able to see the future but still powerless to change it. I think it was all in his mind, but others might disagree with this. Somehow, the hatch imploded and he wasn't inside, which might suggest that he really was transported off the island and back in time, but I just didnt' get that sense, I thought he was remembering, and wasn't able to change it - the way he looked at the photo and begged for another chance, when he'd just had one leads me to this conclusion, he was supposed to learn that he couldnt' change things, but as shown by his pleading to the photo, and th efact he's trying to save Charlie, he's determined to work against fate.

I wasn't sure what to think, I didn't know it was one thing as concrete as Charlie going to die, i just thought there were some random events that he was able to predict....what a shocker!
