Liked this one. Charlie could've done with being in it a bit more though! Love tha Hurley beat Sawyer! Locke annoyed me in this ep, how stupid is he?!

A few things
-If you were involved in the lost ARG, and have watched the Sri Lanka video, you know that the key to saving the world (estab by HansoFound) is to 'change the numbers". Since Hurley was always cursed by the numbers, a change of luck for him is a very important event. It marks a turn in the over-arching plot.
- The "side stories" are probably more linked to the final ending of the series than the sessions between Locke, Jack, Sayid and Kate. Remember that this show is all about suttle clues, puzzles and questions. Also, it gives you a chance to see how the events on the "eyeland" have affected characters.
So now to ep11.
- I think its important to assume some things. Its obvious Locke knew the base would go up in flames, even if he wasnt told a logical impact of confirming takeover would be self-destruct.
- Sayid is distraught that the station is destroyed. He believed it to be the way to communicate with the outside world. I think Locke destroyed it for 2 reasons. Firstly, i dont think he believed the sattelite could be fixed, and if it could be it would take far too long before the others came to investigate. Secondly, I think that if the command protocol was designed for self destruct, it must of also been a signal to somewhere in the outside world that there is something wrong (assuming someones still watching!!)
-Right at the end, where the Russian shot the other woman, the next shot looked as though he was aiming it as his own forehead. Suicide to protect the others?
- The cat. Its smokey. I think Sayid is the next to die. As soon as a memory from one of their pasts begin to appear in reality, I think Smokey is stalking them before the kill.

Questions
- Why didnt they take the meat??
- Why didnt they explore more??
- What did the others say in Russian?
- What was the sonar protocol? Call the sub?

ye like the cat theory! was an ok episode, not great though. cant w8 4 next week's should be good when they find otherville. wonder what happens when they cross that line where locke threw the russian over?

that was one of the better episodes this season so far. sayid still is awesome when it comes to interrogation and figuring out just what the hell is going on in those confusing situations.

and what's with locke always pushing the freakin button!?!? i mean, he couldn't have told anyone else what was going on before destroying the entire house with communications possiblities? grrr! he just kinda frustrates me.

but i do like where things are going now, especially with this whole hostiles vs. dharma initiative scientists thingy. can't wait for next week to find out more to this giant conspiracy/mystery!!

I enjoyed the episode. It was reminiscent of a season 1 lost episode.

There are all sorts of interesting snippets like Nadia Comaneci (who was Romanian, not Russian) belonging to a gym club called The Flame, and like Mikhail Bakunin being the name of a Russian anarchist.

I agree that Locke knew that entering 7 7 would have some negative effect on the station - he had seen it twice on video before he entered the numbers, and I believe there was abit more video that we didn't see... He had time to think about it after the first time he saw the vid. Why wuld John want to be 'rescued'? He has a role as hunter there. He is 'in tune' with the island. He can walk. Along with Rose and Bernard and Kate, he is better off where he is, but John is ruthless enough not to put the needs/wishes of the majority for rescue before his own desire to stay put.

He probably hadn't been told (by Sayid and Kate) about the C4 booby trap, but he knew there would be some inbuilt protection to stop the Others aka Hostiles from taking over the station.

BTW did you notice that there were at least 2 and possibly 3 cats? Certainly the one in Sayid's flashback wasn't the one at the Flame. The flashback cat was bigger and had more dark fur on its nose. Whether the first one Sayid saw and the one at the end were the same cat is debateable.

The mystery deepens - thank goodness.

Nice to see some more forward progress made in the story line..

Wish we could have seen more of the basement in the flame though,,,,

I must say that this episode got me really hooked on Lost again, I loved it. I really loved the scene with the woman that Sayid tortured in which she forgives him, really good acting and a very emotional scene, if you ask me. I also like the shot of the cat at the end, another mystery!

I really liked this episode. It was fresh and clever i thought. Cant wait for the reuinion with Jack. Do you think they will leave that till near the end of the season or will it be soon? ??

Anyway, yeah I thought it was a very good episode, much better than the previous two!! (fillers, bah!)

I liked the way Hurley said to sawyer that he played table tennis a lot in the instit....place he hung out alot - made me laugh, and was a little reminder we still don't know why he was there. Just that we know he isn't "crazy" (or so he says!!)

I think maybe the scientists that "purged" patchy - could they have been Rousseau's lot before they got "ill" ??

ooooh talking of being ill, does claire still give aaron the injections? cuz they have been there, 77 days (ithink) and none of them have "got sick"
