Chat about Episode 10 - 'Tricia Tanaka is Dead' here.

So, who's seen it?! I thought it was sooo much better than the last ep! Really funny too. I love Hurley even more now. Why did Charlie shave off his beard?! Why?! Don't do that!!

I'm at work till 4pm...i wanna see it now!! Can't get streaming sites from here though Sad

That's a bummer. Was very funny! I won't ruin it for ya though. Wink

i really enjoyed the episode..much more so than last week. hurley is hilarious! i had my doubts when they drove down that hill. i kept thinking: that's it for either charlie or maybe even hurley (cuz it looked like charlie woulda jumped out), but i'm glad hurley finally broke the curse.

sawyer was hilarious as usual...i loved the whole beer toasting to "skeletor" thing... Laughing

nothing really spectacular jumped out at me other than hurley breaking the curse. can't wait for next week...looks like eye patch guy is gonna be back! Wink
Em_J

Do you think he's definately broken the curse then? I'm not so sure!

It wasnt a great eppy, but it wasnt bad either. It just seemed pointless to me. It was nice to get back to the beach survivors, but even this time we were only centered around a few. It was nice to see more of Hurley and Charlie though.
Next episode looks better, and hopefully this time it'll live up to expectations! The produceres seem to be growing sloppy!
Em_J

Really? I thought it was brill! Esp. compared to the last one.
Admin1

It wasn't alright, but they seemed to be trying to make something out of nothing, and it seemed to get dragged.
It wasn't bad though, and it was nice to see Charlie again.
charliefan14

i thought ti was a pretty good episode it did seem a bit dragged out the idea but it was amusing episode and alot more intretsing then the last and i was very happy to see more charlie

i thought it was classic Lost, plenty of different storylines running together (Jin learning English, Sawyer and Kate returning, Hurley worrying about his curse, Charlie worrying about death, Sawyer and Kate having issues...) - it may have centred on Hurley but almost everyone else was in it which was what I always loved abotu Lost.

I don't think he's broken the curse or that death will stop stalking Charlie, don't think it's that easy. Think he's stop worrying about it for a whiel though, they both will.

Interesting to see Hurley's dad, I'd wondered before what had hapepned to him.

And as with most of the episode titles this series, good to learn what it meant! Trisha Tanaka is dead as ep title has been circulating since about October, so it's great to make sense of it!

haven't seen a preview of next weeks but interesting to hear that eyepatch guy will be back.

I figured it was Danielle Kate was going for straight away when she said she was getting help, good to see her back in it, and we'll learn a bit more about her if she goes with Kate to find Alex.

The car was hilarious, the flat beer, Sawyer teaching Jin all the english he'll need, the name-calling - these were the things I missed, Lost had a comedy element from the start and it was one of the things lacking in recent episodes.

In general I didn't thinkt he flashbacks were as good as they could have been after the father turned up, but I suppose Hurley gets to have 3 "daddy issues" flashbacks, considering how many Jack's had!

Nice opening too, talking to Libby's grave. And good to see Vincent again, he always livens things up.

I'd give it a 10, and the flashbacks a 6. Great episode overall. I loved it!

Oh yeah, Jorge was brilliant at the start of that ep. Was really sad when he was talking to Libby. Sad

I enjoyed it

Nothing obvious I suppose in the episode, but there have been things in other episodes that seemed inocuous then suddenly several episodes later they jump up and bite you.

One thing that was brought up on Lost Easter Eggs http://losteastereggs.blogspot.com/ was Hugo's dad's bike. It had clearly been a Yamaha but they had scratched off the first and last letters so now it says amah. Apparently that's the name of a mythological heroine in Far Eastern legend who went to the sea every day waiting for her fisherman husband's return, not knowing he had been drowned at sea.. the rest of the story is at lost easter eggs.

I thought the casting of that young boy to play the young Hugo was excellent. There's such a resemblance between them! I could have slapped his dad. What a user!

You make your own luck was said a couple of times - isn't that what the Australian lady said to him (whose husband had started with the numbers) when he eventually got to talk to her?

Did you notice the shape of Hugo's posh house? Dharma logo shape...... Same as Desmond's library in Flashes Before Your Eyes.

There were things there all right. We just don't know what they are yet.

I love Hugo and Sawyer. (In different ways entirely!) Great characters.

Glad I was nowhere near that meteor.
Em_J

That's interesting about Amah and the shape of the houses, didn't notice that!
April_Rose

I noticed the Amah - and wondered if it meant anything, didn't notice the dharma shape, interesting! Well spotted!

make your own luck has appeared quite a few times, but it conflicts with so much of the show that seems to be based aorund fate and destiny, I think that conflict is one of the chief themes in it.

The boy was so cute...and when the father gives him the candy bar....and he takes a bite as he drives off around the corner, such a moment!

Excellent episode, made me laugh so much. Just why can't Hurley be leader instead of Jack.

I particualry liked it because it didn't make us question everything that happened (like Jacks ep) it was all laid back and enjoyable to watch.
April_Rose

As I said, classic Lost, like one of the episodes from season 1, plenty going on, humour, they continued the ongoing mysteries - we saw danielle, a dharma guy, a car, and there was reference to the numbers, the curse, charlie being stalked by death, and the Others, but no one issue took over the whole episode, which has been happening a lot lately.

Take a look here for a few interesting easter eggs you may of missed.
xanderwayne

i think it was a great episode funny throughout, hurley is classic and great 2 see the lighter side 2 sawyer once again. i do agree with domaholic tho in that it did seem a bit pointless. funny and a nice break from all the serious stuff all the same
Admin1

I was just wondering. . . does anybody know what the ratings were for this episode?
April_Rose

I looked it up but couldnt' find it, that was on friday though so maybe there's more info on it since....
Admin1

I've checked lost media, and a few other good LOST sites, but cant seem to find anything :l Thats strange. . .
April_Rose

yeah, weird! Will have a google of it and see what I can find out...that is weird, nothing on google news, all I can find is stuff saying that American Idol did well, but no figures!
Guest

i thought it was better then the last eps to be honest, but then again they have introduced another mystery man, i wonder what sort of impact will our russian freind will have with the viewers, coz if u member desmond was introduced in sumwt same manner and now hes the best.
xanderwayne

somehow i think he isnt going to be a likeable character, he doesnt look very friendly!
Guest

i think so too.
