Jack flying lessons?

In Pilot pt1, right before we hear the 'monster' for the very first time. Jack reveals to Kate that he took flying lessons once but it wasn't for him. Im quite looking forward to seeing this in his flashbacks and at what point it all happened.

Any thoughts?

Interesting...Again there is soemthing that is intriguing about Jack but they completely wasted the Tale of Two Cities flashback by telling us about stuff we already knew. I also want to know where and why he got his tattoos and when he became such a good poker player, but instead it's all about the wife aghain. ah,

i agree jacks flashbacks need to tell us something other than his wife or him being a doctor..lets see the real jack for a change i reckon that there is a lot more to him than we have seen so far

I bet he has, as a doctor who knows what kind of effect he might have had - we know that Shannon's Dad was in the same accident as his wife wasn't he, so if he had tried a bit harder to save him instead of the pretty lady than Shannon and Boone would probably never have been on the plane - and that's only a minor connection but it had a major impact on both their lives, it coudl be the same for soemone else. I just wonder why they are wasting his flashbacks - is there soemthing that I'm missing? everything else about the show is so good, so why not Jack's flashbacks?
