Huff?Any fans of this out there? i love it, saw the first series last year and then discovered tv3 here in ireland had started showing series 2 with no ads, no warning or whatever and are already halfway through so I just downloaded it and have watched the first few episodes, it's a fantastic show, reminiscent of Six feet under but in my opinion actually a bit better.
Who knew that the guy who does Mo, Apu etc in the Simpsons and played Phoebe's scientist boyfriend David in Friends was such a fantastic actor and could carry a well scripted and directed show such as this?
Also great are Paget Brewster who plays his wife beth and Blythe Danner who plays the matriarch of this extremely messed up family. Oliver Platt is fantastic as Russell, the sub-plots involving him are guaranteed to carry the show through any potentially weak moments though i haven't noticed any yet!
Summary for those who haven't seen it (and I'd recommend it)
Huff (Greg Huffstadt, played by Hank Azaria) is a psychiatrist with a troubled home life. His mother and wife don't always get on and his son Bird is at that awkward teenage age. The first episode of the first series a patient commits suicide in his office. His best friend Russell is a lawyer who represents him. he has another crazy patient who is stalking him. Add to this the fact his wife's mother is dying of cancer and he is followed around by a hungarian homelss man that no one but him can see, and he has a schizophrenic brother who lives in a mental institution since he tried to strangle their mother.
Sounds a bit depressing but it is a testament to the writing and acting that it also manages to be hilarious at times. Fantastic show!

It really is good, there's a lot of serious stuff in it but it managed to stil be funny, it was on here on tv3 but I don't think any of the uk terrestrial channels showed it, Oliver Platt was nominated for an Emmy for best supporting actor last year though for his role in it, I'd recommended it if you see it on or get a deal on a box-set.
