I think he's stuck in a huge time loop wich alows him to see the future. Charlie might die.

Awww, the eppy where the whole possible time traveling thing was awesome, can't wait to see where they go with this one. I think Dez can see the future cause of the emp wave from the hatch detonation wasn't it ?

Des the greatDesmond is the greatest character in lost by far with the most interesting story. Everything seems to revolve aroun him.

Gotta wonder if he's always been able to see the future. The whole "see you in another life, brother" lines seemed precognitive in a way.
He was also aware of the speech that Locke didn't yet give, showing that he can see more than just the fate of Charlie on the island. Was he able to see Eko's fate also? I can't remember.
I still think it's Claire that's doomed. Desmond only told Charlie it was him so he wouldn't freak out. But then again, Claire was told point-blank in Season 1 that only she must raise this child. FATE might determine whether or not it wants Charlie included in the raising of Aaron.

I just don't think it's as simple as Desmond seeing the future - we've now had three deaths since he started predicting the worst for Charlie, in Eko, Paulo and Nikki. Surely he'd have seen the gruesome(deliciously so  ) deaths of Paulo and Nikki, paralysed and buried alive? If Charlie is going to die, then there must be an important reason why he's being kept alive this long by Desmond warning him of his fate each time death stalks him. Either that or he isn't seeing the future at all - perfect chance to die for Charlie was when he and Hurley were in the van, and he survived that. If death was determined to take him you'd think it would have seized the opportunity. Maybe it's Desmond himself who's going to die?

DesmondI think its Clare whos goin to die and Desmond keeps telling Charlie what to do, but its really Clare that he is trying to protect. I also think Desmond is the best character in lost his flashbacks are the most interesting.
