General Spoilers01/18 - Cuse [...] offered up this fraktastic piece of prattle: "I think Penny and Desmond's relationship will become something that will be a part of the season finale." Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
01/10 - Rodrigo Santoro mentioned in an interview in the Brazilian edition of Rolling Stone that his character won't be on the show anymore per the end of the current season. Source: Rolling Stone (Brazil)
11/08 - Cuse and Lindelof revealed: We have a very clear plan for this season, and I don't think we'll get back to Michael and Walt's story this season. Harold Perrineau's story is not finished. He is not on the show currently, but I think everybody is very curious to know what happened to Michael and Walt, and we hope to get back to that story. That character is still out there in the Lost universe. I think there are some upcoming episodes — after the break in the spring — that will answer a number of the open questions. We certainly plan to tell the audience this year how Locke got in the wheelchair. We'll be getting a lot more detailed about what happened to Locke, Eko and Desmond following the immediate aftermath of the hatch exploding, imploding or potentially doing something else. We're doing a flashback story where you'll find out how Jack got his tattoos. And we'll begin peeling back layers of who the Others are, how long they've been on the island, what their origins are. That's really the sort of uber-plot of Season 3. "What's the nature of this island? Where is this island?" The overarching mysteries of Lost remain unanswered. But those questions have to remain unanswered until the show ends. [Eko might be back and it] might not necessarily be a flashback episode. [What happened immediately after the hatch exploded] might be a flashback, but we're not going to tell you how that information gets relayed. That island isn't necessarily where [the Others] live. It's not necessarily the same place where we saw those guys in the beginning of the teaser of the season premiere this year. I think that would be a very reasonable explanation as to how Goodwin and Ethan could run from the Others' home camp to the crash site [in about one hour. The guy with the eye patch is going to figure prominently this season.] The fact that the island may have been seen [by the outside world] is pretty much the entire story arc of the second half of the year. There are two bombs being dropped [during the second half of the season], one of which is a character bomb, and that will happen within the first three episodes after the break. And the other is a more significant story bomb, a game-changer, as it were, and that will happen shortly after. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
11/07 - Other Tailies have survived but we don't know where they are. Future episodes will explain what happened to the doctors. Black Rock will be seen in an upcoming episode. Source: Lost Podcasts
10/31 - Chances are good thet we will find out one of the characters is gay. A future episode may possible reveal Nikki and Paulo's experiences on the island during the time we didn't see them. Source: Lost Podcasts [Note: Some sources say a Nikki and Paula flashback is in the works for either episode 11 or 12.]
10/18 - We won't see [Penny] again until after the break. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
10/13 - There will be an Others flashback later in the season that shows the housing residential area before 815 crashed. There are other Others in other places; they are not all in the Hydra station. Ms. Klugh will be back sometime. Source: Lost Podcasts
09/28 - [Producers told Yunjin Kim that we wouldn't know until the series finale who the father of her baby is.] The identify of [Henry Gale's (Ben)'s] past love [is revealed]. Source: TV Guide
08/25 - Terry O'Quinn revealed that "I've heard that [the why was Locke in a wheelchair explanation is] going to happen this season. I'm not sure when it will happen but I have heard that it will." Source: Kristin on E!Online
08/24 - It will be revealed that Jack has met one of "The Others" back in the real world; this will relate to why he is the only one they are able to cooperate with. Source: The Tail Section
07/22 - Among the revelations to come: Viewers will learn more about Desmond and Penny, why Locke was paralyzed, why Libby was in the asylum, and why the island has healing powers. Source: Sci Fi Wire
07/22 - The Powers That Be all but confirmed Libby will be appearing in flashbacks, most logically Desmond's or Hurley's. Source: Kristin on E!Online
07/21 - During an interview Carlton Cuse revealed: Penny is an important character in the overarching mythology of the show. The interrelationship between the outside world and the island will be something that will be a part of Season 3. Source: The Ausiello Report
05/14 - Damon Lindelof [reveals]: Libby's got this mysterious backstory, of which we've only given you the tip of the iceberg. We know she's spent some time in the mental institution with Hurley, and the idea of killing her before she had an opportunity to explain how she got there... we have a master plan for how we're going to tell that story, but it's all posthumous. You'll start to learn Libby's moves through flashbacks over the course of the next season. So we're not done with Cynthia, but Libby is dead. Source: The Ausiello Report
05/03 - Lindelof and Cuse: The growth of Malcolm David Kelly (Walt) will be addressed in the 3rd season. You can expect to see more of Rousseau next year, but the story of the wrecked research vessel, it will be coming at some point but we can't guarantee it'll be in Season 3. 01/30 - Kim Dickens (she plays Cassidy) told me she is flying to Hawaii today to shoot another Lost episode. So, it looks like we're getting another Sawyer-centric gem before the season ends. Source: Kristin on E!Online
01/24 - Charlie's about to get his comeuppance for kidnapping Sun last season. "That is getting resolved in an upcoming episode," exec producer Carlton Cuse tells me. "Sun finally finds out who actually did that to her. It takes place in another character's episode, but it becomes an important ancillary part of that episode." Cuse adds that it's a "reasonable assumption" that the reveal will cause problems between Charlie and Claire. [Vincent is] still on the island, per Cuse, who reveals, "The dog is coming back very soon." Someone who is not coming back anytime soon, however, is Michelle Rodriguez — despite rumors to the contrary. "She was over in Hawaii visiting friends and all of a sudden there was this furor," he says of recent Web rumors. "We might have her back at some point, but she's not currently back on the show." Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
01/21 - Ian Somerhalder and I spent a bit of the afternoon together, and he told me he was off to Hawaii tomorrow to shoot an episode of "Lost." He is reprising his role as Boone, but he said he could not talk about the episode -- because he had not read the script yet. He dismissed rumors that Jack (Matthew Fox) is going to be killed off. Source: KnoxNews
01/21 - Sources tell me that when Lost returns next month, Charlie and Claire will be zooming toward bona fide coupledom and getting far more screen time than they did in the first six episodes. Source: Kristin on E!Online

::NEW::
02/13 - "If someone needs to be picked up somehow, Hurley is there to do it. And I think that hasn't changed. In the coming episodes, he definitely makes a little bit of a project out of Charlie," said Jorge. (Sources tell me Hurley's help may have something to do with the Charlie 'n' Claire lovey-doveyness that lies ahead.) I'm told Juliet and Jack are gonna stay tight. Source: Kristin on E!Online
02/12 - Expect to see the repercussions of Ben's spinal surgery. "There is a period of not being at full power, and in any hierarchical organization, that is a period of danger," says Emerson. "That leaves a vacuum at the top, and other people may try to swoop in and occupy it." Carlton Cuse: We put a pin in the Michael and Walt story for the season, but by no means is it over. It would be very strange for the end of Michael and Walt to just send them off in that boat without any acknowledgment of what has happened. But if you look at the bigger picture of Lost, there's a circularity to the way that story is going to unfold in the overall mythology, and that is a long, planned approach. Yes, we'll get back to the Michael and Walt story, and it will be really compelling when we do. But that's most likely a year 4 story. Damon Lindelof: [The history of the Others is] definitely unfolding. We will begin to find out how certain members of the Others joined the Others. Episode 7 played as a surprise to some audience members that Juliet was not born on the island — she came off the island and was recruited by the Others. So some of them were born there and some of them were recruited, but what they are there to do will be revealed before who put them there and why. Cuse: Given everything else we have to tell, [Libby’s story] is going to be a mystery that's going to have to get answered in year 4. Lindelof: There's really one significant missing piece to Libby's story. We saw in the season finale last year that she met with Desmond, she gave him his boat, and we know that her husband died — and then we know that subsequent to that, she spent some time in a mental institution, the same one as Hurley. The question the audience wants answered is, How did she get from A to B — from Desmond to the mental institution? We know the answer to that question, but the only way to tell that story is through another character's flashback, and that character would have to be another character on the show who is not among the beach dwellers. 02/10 - I tackle-jumped Robin Weigert (Juliet's sister, Rachel) at a recent event for scoop, and she told me the writers were in the midst of creating another episode that continues Rachel's story. "I don’t know what kind of cancer I have," she said. "It has not been revealed to me, but I am not playing it being in any vicinity to the baby... I suppose I will discover when I go back." [...] Michael Emerson (Ben) [told me that] "they are now laying the groundwork for a full-blown relationship and problems to come," [when asked if there is some sort of previous romantic connection between Ben and Julie and some kind of relationship with Alex. He added,] "I’m never going to be the same either. This thing in the operating room, it gets much worse. The whole sort of hierarchy of the world of the Others is about to be shaken. There’s a power vacuum and new, even scarier characters coming. But also, as you said, the show is going to move its focus back to the Lostaways." Source: Kristin on E!Online
02/07 - The mystery surrounding Claire's baby will be revisited in a big way (read: answers!) in April. I'd tell you the other big thing that's happening in April, but I'm afraid that would give it away. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide

03/07 - Carlton Cuse reveals: Everyone will finally find out what that cable [that Sayid found in Season 1] is, that cable is coming into play before the end of this season in a major way. Source: BuddyTV
03/05 - I'm pretty sure [the new female regular is] a subterranean character. Damon and Carlton seemed to admit there's a whole underground contingency on the island in the latest Lost Redux video clip. Source: Kristin on E!Online
03/01 - Life & Style magazine is reporting that Dominic Monaghan has been told he won't be back for next season. Source: Kristin on E!Online [Note: Evangeline Lily claims that Dominic doesn't know if Charlie will die or not. There have been no confirmation from cast and crew that Charlie will indeed die.]
02/28 - Producers have chosen to keep secret when Charlie's next flashback will air, which probably has something to do with Desmond's premonition in the Feb. 14 episode that Charlie is destined to die. (Characters' deaths traditionally have occurred at the conclusion of their flashback shows.) "I have to be careful to not tell you too much," says [Dominic] Monaghan, hinting only that "the Charlie stories are going to be coming toward a bottleneck. The Hurley, Sayid, Claire and Locke stories are all pushing together into a Charlie journey." And if Charlie does in fact die? "That's fine," he says with a shrug. "This job is going to end for everyone. I've achieved everything that I wanted to do. It's been a fantastic opportunity for me, and it's done exactly what I wanted it to do: distance me from playing a hobbit (in TheLord of the Rings) and have people in America know I can act." Source: USA Today
02/28 - [Marsha Thomason, Nessa Holt from Las Vegas, has been cast as...] A new female character will be introduced later this season, and get this: According to exec producer Carlton Cuse, "She does not appear in a flashback, she is not an Other, and she is not one of the survivors of Flight 815." What does that leave? Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
02/19 - Cuse and Lindelof reveal: I think the Desmond-Penny love story is really central to the whole overall mythology of the show. [Desmond] sort of leveled Charlie with this very sort of specific proclamation at the end of the episode, that Charlie is going to die. And coming down all the way through the end of season three, that becomes a very major storyline that we're following, which is, Desmond keeps seeing Charlie die and can he stop it? Is he powerless to stop it? Source: Kristin on E!Online
