Xarcabard

Yeah I'll be watching match of the day too even though my team didn't play today. Judging by the scores there was some really good matches and I think the cricket highlights are on after it that I avoided earlier.
April_Rose

I'm not into cricket at all, though I did vaguely pick up an interest when Ireland were in the world cup, just enough to listen to the scores though, not to watch! Laughing

I know the half time scores in the Chelsea and United games but not after that, decided to wait till this evening which is weird as normally I listen on the radio. Who do you support?
Xarcabard

Newcastle United, they play Reading on Monday.
April_Rose

I like Newcastle, and they seem to have great fans, not sure about Roeder as manager though! Shay Given is from near where I live, my husband played football with him at school.
Xarcabard

Wow thats great! I'm sure we'd be better ditching Roeder but the problem is getting a better manager in, I don't think anyone will want to come in, in the state the team are in at the moment.

The fans are great though, you get to see how much they love the club just by visiting the city. Its been a bit hard for us lately though.

Do you support any English club? I'd guess Man U?
April_Rose

Well I hear Allardice is leaving Bolton, he might be good at a club like Newcastle, he seems to know how to how to get results out of players and Newcastle do have better players than Bolton, martins is a good striker and then there's Duffer and Given is a great keeper.

Man U? GRRRR! I'm a Chelsea fan, and right now I'm wondering how much it would cost to take a contract out on Phil Neville's head, did you see that goal? That was a fine striker's finish, I think he forgot what team he was playing for! *loads of expletives*
Xarcabard

Laughing I knew the scores so I didn't want to ask if you were a Chelsea fan. Things were looking great for you's at half time too. If only you had beat us last week Laughing

Allardyce has done a great job at Bolton but our fans are rather split over whether he'd be a good manager for us. They are put off with some of this after match interviews and the style Bolton play. He's worth a go imo though.

Owen is back in the squad for Monday, hope he doesn't get injured again.
April_Rose

I feel a bit sorry for Owen, he's had a hard time of it recently, it'll be interesting to see what he's like now when he comes back, he's been very unfortunate.

Bloody Phil Neville, wonder what Fergie will give him for that Exclamation Everton never get turned over normally, they're bastards like that, they're so good at hanging on normally, and then he goes and does that! It's basically over for Chelsea now unless luck finally starts going their way and I can't see that happening, there's still the FA cup and the Champs league though. I like Mourinho, I think he's a great character but he's made a few strange selections recently Sad

I'd say Allardice would be good for Newcastle, I think that with better plays he'll play a better style of football, there's been some good play between Anelka and Campo and Nola this season ,I think if he has players like Solano, Duff, Parker, Martins and Owen available to him he'll get them playing well, I've felt sorry for him a few times at Bolton, he's got them into Europe before and everything and there's a half empty ground, I think a place like Newcastle with really dedicated fans would suit him well. I haven't seen him in an interview in ages as I don't have sky and he wont' speak to the BBC Laughing
Xarcabard

He was desprete for the job before Roeder took it over so I do think he wants to do well for a bigger club. Newcastle fit the bill and I'd rather have him in charge next season than Roeder. Roeder was done a great job but he can't handle the big players imo he's excellent with the youths though.

And yes them goals Evertn conceeded were a joke. They should have won the game.
April_Rose

Yeah, Newcastle are a big club but with managers like Souness and Roeder in recent years it's easy to forget that! Yeah, Roeder had been doing well with the youth academy and he'd have been better stepping down after being caretaker rather than taking the job on, I just don't think he's up to the task, he's trying but he's not good enough.

Ah, yeah, bloody Everton, should have known they'd roll over for United. Good luck to Newcastle on monday, I don't really have any particular feelings about Reading, though I do like Kevin Doyle, he's a good prospect for Ireland and we need that the way we've been playing lately, it's mad to think that two years ago I actually saw him playing for Cork City against Finn Harps (my local club in the League of Ireland, they're pretty crap Laughing ) and then he was bought for just £80grand. He should have got young player of the year IMO. I hope Owen is okay though, the poor guy has been wrecked by injuries, he deserves a bit of luck now!
Xarcabard

Have you seen how many goals on MOTD have been absolutely hilarious from a defensive perspective tonight? its been like watching a comedy Laughing

Yeah Owen deserves luck and so do Newcastle, an extra 20 goals that he can bring would make a lot of difference to our league standings. Martins has looked very lively but he doesn't score as many tap ins, his goals are usually screamers from way out. Duff had been disapointing but everyone knows what he's capable of and Given has been injured THREE times this season. Now THAT is unlucky, you don't expect that from keepers.

Reading is actually the closest I have to a second club as my uncle lives there and I used to go to a couple of matches there when I was a kid and they were in the 2nd Division (league 1 now). But theres only one team I want to see win on monday Laughing
April_Rose

Yeah, the Roberts goal against Charlton had me laughing as well!!! Duff hasn't done great for Newcastle but I think he'll be better next year, he's been very disappointing for Ireland recently as well, although so have everyone for Ireland, I think my heart actually stopped during the San Marino game...

Yeah Given's injuries have been hard on you, he played so well against a few teams and he's been really unfortunate, as long as he's alright next season and Owen comes back nicely i think Newcastle will challenge for Europe, they could do with another few players in the defence though, Taylor is brilliant and incredibly dedicated but they're lacking in that area apart from him.
Xarcabard

Exactly, him and Solano have been great this season and really put their heart into their play. In a couple of years I could see Taylor in the full England squad, he makes a couple of mistakes now and then but thats because he's young. He's in the mold of John Terry, I just hope he gets half as good. Solano should be our first choice right back, he's just so intelligent and its remarkable how good he's been there. But thats it, the rest of the defense needs changing and we are despretly in need for a left back who's not a natural centre back or right back.
April_Rose

I think Solano is still good enough to play on the wing though, I know he's Irish but Stephen Carr is useless at this stage, you guys could do with a proper left back and right back I'd say, and someone along with Taylor.

He really is very dedicated, a bit like Terry as you say but without better players around him he won't reach that level, but if he does have people around him he might. Whenever i think of him I can't help but remember the time - can't remember now if it was last season or the one before but to try to clear a ball he went sliding in and his legs were split by the post and he crashed right into the woodwork in his *delicate area* even as a woman I winced and thought it looked painful Laughing
Xarcabard

Laughing I think I can remember that! I'm sure he will too! believe me a man feels the same pain when they see something like that happen to another Laughing

Taylor goes crazy whenever he scores, you should really see fly. He nearly done a lap of honour when he scored his first Newcastle goal, I though he was going to do an injury Laughing He's scored 4 this season so thats good!

Terry is my favourite non newcastle player, he leads by example. Best defender in the world imo.
April_Rose

Laughing Yeah I think I remember a few guys practically doubling over when they saw it Laughing

It's great for the fans when there's a player who really loves the club, I did see him score on MOTD but I don't remember the near-lap of honour thing. Do you go to see them live at all?

Yeah I agree, being Irish I have to hope England don't win too many games Laughing but when it comes to Terry I cant' help but feel bad when they concede, he's an unbelievable player, if hadn't been injured Chelsea would be well in front of United this season. He's so good at reading the game and he gets some good goals as well.
Xarcabard

I think he has to calm down in the away matches when he scores but when its at home he runs all over the place. Its great to see a player love the club so much and then celebrates wildly when he scores for them.

I don't go to many games now but I was a season ticket holder when we played under Bobby Robson. I go to my share of cup matches though (because they are cheaper).

Sorry for being away for a bit there but my Dad has actually got his cheek broken by someone and I was just checking on him.
April_Rose

Jesus, that sounds bad, I hope he's okay!!!!

Bobby Robson is great, I still can't believe Freddy Shepherd sacked him after an admittedly bad start to that season and replaced him with Souness, I think he'd have turned it around if he'd been given the chance.

He's now the Ireland assistant manager/football consultant, I wish they'd made him manager and Staunton the assistant as Staunton clearly doesn't know what he's doing(we were within seconds of drawing with San Marino for f's sake and couldn't even beat Wales...), if he was second to a man like Robson he might learn something but he's too stubborn the way the situation is and Robson being the professional he is won't say a word against him...
Xarcabard

No Newcastle fan could understand why Bobby was sacked, I presume it was because of the Bowyer/Dyer incident and Freddy thought he had lost control of the team. Perhaps he's a little old to take over a fulltime job now but the man is great and would do a goodjob for any club or national side.
April_Rose

Yeah, that was a bit nuts, the Bowyer/Dyer thing, but personally I think it's more to do with the two of them being tools than Robson, I suppose he is getting a bit old now especially after he had a stroke last year but I really hate the Ireland manager, I think it's similar to the way a lot of English people feel about McLaren.

I do laugh when England get beat, I think a national sillyness gets into the air here or something Laughing but in fairness with the players they had I though they had a decent chance at the world cup, I was disappointed by how they played there, I wouldn't have begrudged them winning it if they'd played well but with Sven in charge I suppose they had no chance.
Xarcabard

Actually I always laugh when England get beat, I support them but they are so bad to watch that often I want the other team to win. I'm not a big fan of Mclaren, I don't even think Boro fans wanted him to stay with them.

On paper they have a good team, but as a team as a whole they are hopeless.
April_Rose

Yeah it's one of those mysteries, everyone seems to think he should drop Lampard but I think he and Gerrard could play very well together if it was done right, Lampard and Ballack have played well together for Chelsea plenty this season so it's not as simple as dropping a player. A brave manager might try to go with a 3 man defence and have Hargreaves or Carrick in front of them, then an attacking side - England dont' play like they're one of the top sides in the world but maybe they should ,and then they would be.

I know what you mean about wanting the other team to win, I was hoping Wales would score a second against us or that Slovakia would beat us as then they would have had to fire Staunton but he managed to get just about enough points to keep his job but he keeps talking BS about a long term plan when he's obviously out of his depth and isn't telling the players anything about how he wants them to play or anything, when they walk out there they're lost.
Xarcabard

Oh I forgot, thanks for asking about my Dad, he's fine. Hard as nails my Dad is Laughing

England should play a lot more attacking than they do. When you see sides play them they sit deep nearly the whole game. Why not throw 3 or 4 in the box instead of two strikers?

I'm a big fan of Gerrard and Lampard but Lamps has been rather off for England lately. A big thing is made that they can't play together but what about the rest of the team? One thing for sure they are missing Owen more than they should do.
April_Rose

Glad your dad is ok! Very Happy Sounds like a nasty injury.

Yeah England don't really play attacking football which they do have the players to do if they were used properly. I'd be concerned though that they're making too much of the Own being missing thing, it's going to take him time to get back up to speed again as he's missed the bet part of two seasons and they can't rely on him getting the goals if they aren't creating the chances, no one can score if they don't have the ball. (God I sound like on of those awful cliche-ridden football pundits Laughing )
Xarcabard

Yeah tell me about it! No newcastle fan including me wants Owen to play for England this summer. He's been out way too long to be put back into that competition just like that! If he comes back injured there is going to be a lot of people p'd off.

We used to have the same problem when we had Bellamy, he go to play for Wales and almost always come back injured. Its so frustrating when that happens and the club can't do anything about it.
April_Rose

I know, I can understand why managers get annoyed at players going on international duty and coming back with injuries, I wonder what'll happen the the Newcastle/FA compensation row? In fairness the FA should be liable to pay his wages for the time he was injured, especially considering the money he's on and the fact that to be honest I don't think he should have been taken to the world cup at all, or if he was taken they should have brought Defoe and Bent as well and only brought him on as a sub, he wasn't ready to play 90 minutes last summer, it was hard on Newcastle that he got injured.
Xarcabard

You've hit the nail on the head there well and truely. But at the moment the FA are paying only half of his 110k per week wages and show no sign of changing. We seem to have the support of every other club in the premiership when it comes to that but we are not getting a fair deal imo.

He like you said shouldn't have been at the world cup. Owens game is all about sharpness and it was impossible for him to have that going into a world cup without playing any games.
April_Rose

FIFA should really step in but with a guy like Blatter in charge that'll never happen no matter now many clubs agree, if you added up all the wages he was paid for the whole season that he has missed (my maths skills aren't great at this time of night after so much wine so I could be off here ) he's missed the whole season and pre-season training, that's over 2 million by my reckoning compared to if the FA were paying his whole wage package and they could have put that toward getting a new defender. A lot of stuff about football is pretty messed up and annoys me.
Xarcabard

There is a lot of things messed up with Fifa, its even worse abroad and in particular Italy.

To be honest Owen injury is hurting us even more than just his wages in terms of money. I believe Newcastle would have been further up the league if he was fit and so we're missing out on the money for qualify for europe and higher league position money.

If it happened to Man U with Ronaldo or Chelsea with Drogba then no doubt they'd position and finances would have slided this season.
April_Rose

With Man U I'd say it's true but with Chelsea to be honest I'm not sure, the fact they're not part of the G14 hurts them a lot, there really are rules for certain clubs and they don't apply to the others, and in spite of their money Chelsea aren't seen as a big club, yet anyway.

The rules being different for different clubs is really apparent here in Ireland at the moment, our season goes form March-november and there are a few clubs have signed players that played in England or Scotland during the season and because of this stupid 2 clubs per season law arent' allowed to play for their clubs till July, Mascherano is playing away for Liverpool because they coudl afford a good lawyer but the Irish clubs don't have that kind of backing so although it's exactly the same situation they're screwed.

Yeah there is a lot messed up with FIFA, they are corrupt as hell and at the same time they're caught up in BS administration crap all the time so half the people working for them know nothing about football.
Xarcabard

Yeah thats true, I agree.

Another thing that is bothering me is all this foreign investment coming into the premiership now. There has already been quite a few teams took over by foreign ownership and quite soon we'll end up with no team having an English chairman. Ok I admit I am a little bothered because no one has took over Newcastle at the moment and they are in need of a lot of money spending but the game is becoming too much about money for my liking.
April_Rose

The game is a lot about money but I think that's as much about the TV investment as the people who own the clubs - did you hear Arsenal's chairman when David Dein left saying he wants to keep Arsenal English, Laughing I think the closest the have to an English player is Walcott and he's still only 18 and has to get over being taken to the world cup and not playing Laughing

I don't mind clubs beign taken over by people who are rich and have an interest in football, but those that are doing it purely for investment and don't understand the game are a bit dangerous. Roman Abramovich for all the slagging Chelsea get gets hurt when they lose, you can see it, but not everyone is like that, and it could easily become so much about money that they forget that fans make football, and if they're not careful it'll be too late.
Xarcabard

Yeah I get sick and tired of hearing about arsenals youth players and how they brought them through the systems etc. They are mostly all foreign youth players brought in from scouts. Wenger has at least 8 scouts over the world and I bet none of them are in England looking at our youths.
April_Rose

No, Walcott wasn't scouted as such, everyone knew he was going to be good, there were a lot of clubs looking at him, and any players Arsenal have that did come through the youth squad - as in really through it, from a young age, not bought at 17 or 18 - have been sold again - Stokes at Sunderland, Bentley at Blackburn etc.
Xarcabard

In our youth team (newcastle) I'm pretty sure we have one australian, one canadian and the best are from the UK or Island. I can barely think of anyone (except from walcott) that is British in either the full team or youths.

I think thats pretty annoying beacause Wenger is a great manager and he could really work well with British players, making them into better ones.
April_Rose

Yeah much as I hate Arsenal I do have to admit he is a good manager, I've noticed that Wenger is again being linked with the England job, that would be very interesting (apart from the nation rivalries, a Frenchman in charge of England Laughing )

I don't have anything against foreign players in the premiership as I think sometimes they can add a dimension that it needs as English football is very fast and intense but sometimes there isn't enough basis in technique and ability on the ball and players who learned their trade in other countries can therefore make it more interesting regards that, but England (and Ireland, I have a bias here because all of our players aim to play in the premierships as out own league is so shit) need their major clubs bringing through English players for the future.
Xarcabard

Personally I prefer the English style of football and the greatest thing as a newcastle fan for me would me seeing a hometown player do well (like Taylor for us)

Probably our best player this season has been James Milner, he's not as gifted as others in our squad but he always runs himself into the ground and gets the fans behind him.
April_Rose

yeah, dedication is very important, I'd say Milner has a good future ahead of him if he's the right manger above him and players around him. he was on loan at Villa last year (hubby is a villa fan) and they wanted to buy him but Newcastle stopped the deal going through at the last minute, I bet you're glad they did!!

What was that you said earlier about not being on at 3am? Laughing I know, I said the same thing and I'm still here as well....
Xarcabard

Yeah lol thank god I have a lie in tommorow!

Milner is a fan favourite now, amazing how things can turn round in football. You'd expect he'd want to leave us for how we treated him with the villa deal but he loves it here and only says very positive things about his future.
April_Rose

I know, I get to sleep in as well thank F, it's much needed, I've been lacking sleep all week but it's starting to catch me up, been mad this week with the RPG, it has seriously been like an addiction, once I log on I can't stop!!!! It' just too much fun at the moment Laughing

Yeah I think Milner must really care about Newcastle which is again good to see, he'll be a good player for the future.
Xarcabard

Laughing I cant seem to leave, I'm trapped!!!

But yeah Milner is one to look out for, I've heard Mclaren is keeping tabs on both him and Taylor, so hopefully they'll be a few more Newcastle players in the England side along with Parker, Owen and Dyer.
April_Rose

I know, I'm the same, it's a bit too much fun perhaps Laughing

Be good to see a few players from other clubs in the England setup and see how it changes things but I'm still not sure McLaren is the man to make it work.

Just realised this is meant to be the RPG chatter section, I might split it off as a football thread in the random chat section as we've been talking about football for ages now Laughing
Xarcabard

Whoops I never realised. Laughing
April_Rose

Laughing I know, I didn't till a minute ago, was a good conversation though Very Happy
Jenny*

oooo a football thread - i love football . . . but can't talk at the moment because no one else is on here Sad
April_Rose

I'm back Very Happy

Man City isn't it Jen?
Jenny*

indeed it is!
April_Rose

So what are your thoughts on their season, are you happy with Pearse as manager? They've had a hard time getting goals this season.
Jenny*

this season has been awful . . .seriously bad. i do like pearce but he's not cut out to be a premiership manager i'm afraid. pearce had his best run with city when he was using the team keegan used. all his buys have been completely useless which is why our scoring record is so low. we will stay up this season but pearce needs to go unfortunatly
April_Rose

There's talk of a takeover which would be interesting, if they had a better manager and some money to spend it might really change things.
KateIthinkIsawyerHorse

OOpps....I almost posted something, but I realized it wasn't my football. It was Futbol. Grand game, and i wish I had tiome to catch more of it. I still don't know much about it as a whole, but I've enjoyed the bits and pieces I've seen the last year or two as I've been giving more time to it.
Jenny*

well big sam has just quit so maybe if we're lucky enough we can get him!!
April_Rose

That might happen, I was just saying to Xarca last night that he would be great for Newcastle though Laughing I think he'd consider City if they had money though, he'd like to be at a club with a good fan base, I think it was annoying him that Bolton's stadium was half empty when the team were beating teams like Arsenal, they're just not a big enough club for him.
Jenny*

maybe, but mind you when city play badly, they certainly don't fill the stadium. we did shaun wright-phillips back, if we got him on loan, so many people would be flooding back into the stadium
April_Rose

Yeah he was really good for you, he's starting to get into the Chelsea side now though! What's your opinion on Barton? I think he's a good player but off the pitch he does the team more harm than good, I'd say if he wants to leave let him, he's a bit of a troublemaker.
Jenny*

he is very influential for city on the pitch and does show the right determination to win, however, he needs to learn whether to shut his mouth making comments about others. if he still wants to leave at the end of the season i say let him leave as we have tried to keep him before. if he sorted his attitude out he would make a great player
April_Rose

yeah, that's the problem, it seems to happen a lot, great on the pitch but not having the personality to handle it...
Jenny*

yeah, and just when you think he's changed, he goes and does something stupid

i do feel sorry for him sometimes though, like at the end of one match he walked into the tunnel and briefly rearranged the elastic on his shorts and the press said he pulled a moony at the crowd?! what is that about?!?
April_Rose

Yeah that was a bit stupid but the press have got it in for him now, he has done enough bad things in the past that he doesn't' stand a chance, I'd have thought Pearse would be the kind of manager who would have been firm on him but I don't think he can handle it.
Jenny*

nope he can get out of control sometimes

anyway im off for my tea now Smile bye Smile
lockeslady

i have only been watching football since the world cup but i am totally hooked and need some help and guidance of the 'professional watchers'!!! i have been following the champions playoffs and just enjoy watching this facinating sport! so glad to be here and i am willing to learn... please be patient with me!! Razz Very Happy
April_Rose

No problem, glad to have another football fan here! I've only been into it for a few years myself, it's very addictive though! Do you have a team, locally or in Europe that you support?
Jenny*

support man city!! . . . they're amazing . . ish . .. Razz
lockeslady

April_Rose wrote:

the local cable station mainly televises the champions league and playoffs... so those are the teams i am most familiar with. occasionally i get ato watch something from the premeirship league, i think... tottenham and blackburn and such... still trying to pick a team... have another friend who is a big supporter of liverpool...

right now i am more of a fan of individual players than any team... are they all so... yummmmy?
April_Rose

Some certainly are Very Happy Who in particular do you find delicious?
Jenny*

this is quite ironic . . . we were talking about joey barton the other day right AR . . have you heard what he's gone and done now?! decked a team mate in training, sending em to hospital! now he's suspended for the rest of the season, and has probably played his last game in a city shirt
April_Rose

Yeah I just heard on the radio a little while ago. Not surprised but yeah ,I'd say he's on his way out of there now, still, some club will take him on (look at Bellamy) and the money they get for him might help City.
Jenny*

hopefully, he's well and truely blown it this time, although it said on sky sports news that Dabo (the other player) started the fight . . .but he's not suspended?!
Guest

cant bloody believe liverpool won i hate em so much.poor chelsea
April_Rose

Thanks for the sympathy! Who do you support BRG?
Guest

im not really a huge football fan april as im a rugby lover myself but if there's a big footy game on i'l be supporting chelsea.and u april?just dnt say man u.
April_Rose

No I'm a chelsea fan, so I'm depressed now, I hate Man U!

that's right, you mentioned the rugby before. I think I'm getting into that as I watched the Ireland V France and Ireland V England games at Croker, felt I had to as it was such a big occasion, but I really enjoyed it so I might watch Ireland in the World Cup now!
Guest

yep they r pretty good in rugby i love it, they suk in footy damn u staunton.
i saw the all blacks vs ireland game two years ago it was a cold day i tell ya.but we lost which was horrible as we havnt defeated them in more then 100 years.all black olayer are monsters.

as this is a football topic yeah same here dissapointed they lost.the only reason i mentioned manu is coz here in cork every 1 loves man u i hate em.
April_Rose

That's just cos of Keane though, it's nice to see him doing so well at Sunderland, I do like Roy Keane but even he wasn't enough to make me like Man U!!!

Yeah damn bloody Staunton, I wish that hadn't just been a toy gun that time! Laughing
Guest

keane is from mayfield cork and around here hes worshipped as god, he was great player and hope he does well for sunderland also nial'o'quinn owes sum off the club so there's a irish connection there.
April_Rose

Yeah, not a huge fan of Quinn though, after the way he was over the whole world cup issue, still, if Keane can get over it I suppose I can too Laughing

I'll never forgive McCarthy for that. What were your feelings on the whole Saipan issue? I know Keane was a stubborn B but I still think McCarthy could have dealt with the situation better and I blame him much more than Keane, he was the manager after all, and Keane was right about a lot of the stuff he said, we could have been in the final of that World Cup, don;t think we could have beaten Brazil but still, would have been nice.
Guest

yeah the realtionship between keane and mick before the world cup was ok sumin they obiviously had a huge argument and i think it was personal otherwise keane wud have never abandon its team like that.mick was a b*****d, never liked the guy.but the best moment for was when ireland equalised agains germany that was soooo cool.
April_Rose

Yeah that was sooo good...the spain game was painful though....
Guest

heartbreaking finale i think the whole country was in tears i know i was.
April_Rose

Yeah me too, still, at least we qualified for that tournament, it's not looking good on that front for the future Sad
Guest

i know we can blame the players too as they are the on who have to perform in the middle not the manager yeah i know he controls the team, yes staunton is too blame i think he silly and hes making his team look silly too they'r playing school football at this mo for me.
April_Rose

I think it is Staunton, the players are all doing ok for their clubs, not brilliant maybe but they're not doing badly, Robbie Keane has been below par for Ireland recently and same for Duffer, though I admit he hasn't been great for Newcastle either, I just think Staunton isn't giving them proper tactics to go out onto the pitch with, the San marino game was a farce, that was down to the tactics rather than the players aloen I think, they should have been going for it to try to score a load of goals but instead they nearly dropped points....
lockeslady

liverpool advances!!! onward to athens!
April_Rose

I'm still in a bad mood over it.... Crying or Very sad

be interesting tonight to see who goes through - I hate Man U and I don't want Liverpool to win it now, so I hope Milan beat Man United in the San Siro tonight and go on to win it.
Guest

i hope its not man u i'l be supporting ac milan, god please not man u noooooooooo.
April_Rose

I know if Man U win then it'll be them against Pool in the final, I don't think I'll even watch the final if it's them two!
Guest

i really hate ronaldo murinho said recently that ronaldo is uneducated poor kid from a small village i mean murinho himself is from portugal and its one of those european countries which is always looking for support from its tourist anyways i thought that was really childish of him to say sumin like that.
April_Rose

I hate ronaldo but I thought it was a stupid thing to say as well, he coudl have criticized his football rather than his background. I'd say Mourinho is on his way out of Chelsea now anyway after last night and he probably just doesn't care anymore.
Guest

yeah and his realtionship with that russian chelsea boss arnt any good so i think hes off i had a lot of respect for the guy i thought he was tough and couldn't be defeated kinda guy but after his childish remarks and his defeats made me think again.
April_Rose

I still like him but after the decisions he made last night I'm not so sure...What the hell was Robben allowed to take a penalty for?

i've never liked morihnio (sorry for the awful spelling) and probably never will. he is so arrogant and i hate the way he is determined never to admit that just maybe, his team wasn't the best on the night
April_Rose

Yeah, I know why everyone hates him but I did like his confidence and I think some of his arrogance was down to the way the press treated him when he first came to england, but after last night I think he made a few really bad decisions and I think it's just all gotten too much for him, and he's be gone - wonder who will get the job though?
Jenny*

now that's a tricky one - obviously big sam is an option, but i doubt he would take on chelsea
April_Rose

No, I don't think he woudl want the stress of it, that's the thing - I know Mourinho has been arrogant but he won the league twice in a row and could still win the Fa cup and got to the semis of the champs league two years out of three, so if that isn't good enough then what will be? It'll have to be a big name that has worked at a big club before so they know how to handle a board and a chairman like Chelsea have.
Jenny*

yeah, i'm sure there are lots of managers willing to have that amount of money to spend
April_Rose

Yeah, but if they fail it could be their career ruined so it's a double edged sword...

Anyway, Milan scored again *cheers*
lockeslady

milan was awesome!!!

gatusso stuck like a barnacle to ronaldo's bottom!!! rooney was stopped flat... milan was just scrappy and never gave up!! kaka was outstanding!!

should make for a great match on may 23!!!
April_Rose

Yeah I'm looking forward to the final, hope Milan win it this time!

Didn't see all the match but yeah Gattusso was bloody brilliant, he's a quality player, and Kaka is in a different class, Ronaldo has nothing on him!
lockeslady

considering that gattusso was so close to ronaldo the entire game, i thought ronaldo still played a brilliant game! he couldn't produce tho and was extremely frustrated... he had no help from anyone else.... milan was the team!!
April_Rose

I hate ronaldo so I'm biased...have you decided on a team to support yet???
