watched this this morning and the end...  shockingggg..!!!
i though she said the baby was called 'Ern' at the end haha but then i replayed it & it was Aaron

I heard first time around....the way her and Jack were talking in the car park I figured there was something up with the baby (more than maybe it being Sawyer's) so I was waiting to see what it was. Wonder what happens wit that? Does she kidnap him or does Claire die?
Interesting ending, in general I didn't think it was a great episode.
Pretty much everyone annoyed me - Locke going all dictator, he's turning into Ben without the conniving maliciousness. Jin, Sun - seemed like their discussion was just to give them a bit of screentime. The bit about not being able to get through to the boat and then finding there was no word of the chopper (if that was true) was fine but we'd already seen it in a sneak peek.
The flashforwards were ok, we wanted to know how Kate ended up escaping jail and we found out. Wonder who the two who supposedly died were?
In general I didn't think it was great. Might watch it again later and see how I feel then.

Episode was like the other episodes so far, decent but with a lot of things to nitpick and not enough action.
Kate was still centred round the love triangle far too much and those parts were confusing ie how could Jacks boring speech be a reason Kate avoided prison and what kind of reason was not being pregnant to start a fight with Sawyer.
Other than silly things like that I thought Locke putting the grenade in Miles' mouth t be fantastic. Finally somebody has shut his damn mouth

Yeah the grenade scene was ok I suppose.
I really didn't get Kate's behaviour either and surely she should have got that one big reason Sawyer didn't want her to be pregnant was he didn't want her to die? I don't think Jack's speech was a reason she avoided prison.....
I didn't think it was as good as the others so far this series...

Well I didn't think it was the reason she avoided prison but since Kate was supposed to be a cert to go to jail so it was made to look that way. I think it was a badly written episode which it shouldn't have been because with Kate theres a lot of scope.
And to be fair none of the episodes has been particulary great this season, but yeah this eppy was weak.

I really liked Economist, and the first one, maybe it's just the mood I'm in today but tis failed to impress me much.
I Dunno, Jack could have said what he wanted and I know Kate thanked him and all, but her mother refusing to testify was the only thing that kept her out of prison....

Her mum not testifying I suppose would have got her off the murder charge but there was still assault, GTA, fraud etc.....time served on remand can't have been all that long. It wasn't the strongest.....

i must say the most boring eps of this season, nothing happend at all as u guys mentioned i mean no action,besides locke and miles.yeah i shocker in the end when kate says araon besides that i kinda felt asleep.same old jate/skate thing goin on.
after watching a brilliant eps like the economist this one was a shocker.

Glad I'm not the only one who was disappointed by it! Yeah there's way too much Jate/Skate, i think it's worse this season, I'm getting bored of it.

exactly instead of spending time on the love scenario the writers should really
bring forward the characters that have been introduced or anything else besides that.sick and tired of that.
and where the bloody hell is michael im waiting for him so badly four eps have
already been aired.

Ok, finally managed to watch it! Yay! Will read back through this thread in a sec.
First of all...  Kate's got Claire's baby?! Did she nick him?! Is Claire dead?! (pleeeease!)
Thought it was a good ep. Was really worried for Miles!! I sooo want him to kick Locke's ass! I'll not be happy if Miles dies!! And also, does Jack have to be in everybody's bloody flashforwards! Grr.

Just read back, you guys didn't like it much?! I thought it was pretty good. Loved the Miles stuff, was really scared he was gonna get hurt! I so hope he kicks Locke's ass... have I said that already? Kate's flashforwards were pretty dull, but the end was pretty damn good!!!

Yeah I liked the end, wasn't too keen on the rest of the ep though. Like I said somewhere above though, maybe that's just the mood I'm in today!

Maybe I thought it was better than it was cos I've had to go through so much to watch it?!
I liked the Miles/Locke/Ben stuff the best, I hate guns anyway, have a proper phobia, so anything where people are waving guns about like that freaks me out... that may be why I thought it was more exciting than it was too.

I'd be seriously afraid if someone was waving a gun in my face, don't get me wrong, but on tv shows I love a bit of shooting action!
I thought Locke was starting to lose the plot a bit....the whole dictatorship thing....like I said somewhere it seems like he's turning into Ben but without the cunning....
I like Miles but I'm not as bothered about him as you - the grenade scene was good though!

I was a little disapointed in Miles/Ben conversation but yeah I liked the Miles/Locke/Ben stuff too, especially the grenade part Miles so derserved that!

Yeah, I'm not entirely sold on Miles yet! Suppose I should have expected him being willing to extort Ben though as he was seen to be pretty into financial gain in the flashback....

I love him. I know I keep saying it. But I actually think (this may be blasphemy) that he's a better character than Charlie... well, better than Charlie's character towards the end anyway.

Yeah, I bet it'll be ages before we find out. There was something else that happened, I can't remember now, but it made me think 'you're so tricksy!' That's why I like him, he always gives these little looks like he's thinking or planning something else.

Well they've gone to the trouble of introducing him, I'd say he's safe for a while, he seems smarter than Charlotte and more streetwise than Daniel so he'll probably survive for a bit!

It's definitely strange....I'm finding him more interesting now. In the first episode we saw him he kind of irritated me, but he's improved.

Yeah he annoyed the crap outta me in the first ep but I do like him now! Not as much as I like Miles... but I like him! Still don't like Charlotte. Why can't there be an interesting female character?! I mean, they could've written Daniel as a female for example, why make the men interesting and the women crap?!

Well i must say guys i am officially slightly pissed off.and its not cos i was disspointed in the ep as most of u guys seem to becos i am determined to remain positive about something for once an i still did think it was a pretty good little episode as is my view on all th eps so far this season.i mean yea it had its few litle blips n anonyin bits as lost always does an im not saying it was an fantastic ep or anything but it was stil ok wasnt it? i duno maybe i not lookin at it from a very clear perspective cos all i could see was SAWYER.a fair amount of sawyer as it hapens (no pun intented,ha who am i kiddin or course thers a pun intented) but no seriously getiing back to why im so grr but not at the actual ep itself,the explanatition for that is quite simple.its known as Kate.and im sorry to have to say this here guys but she is such a B**** She is doing my head in. her treatment of sawyer (an pretty much anyone else she comes into contact with at the moment, but obiviously my heart goes out in particular to sawyer) is just despicable.it realy is.shes such a user.i hate her.uno i dont no bout anyone else but i was startin to really worry with the way things r progressin that sawyer is either gona a) not get off the island b) die c) not b a part in kates life or d) all of the above but now with how shes been treating him im starting to think all those r good things (apart from the death) and hed be betta off without her. anyhow i no u lot here r all gettin a bit fed up of the triangle situation as a whole an although ive always considered myself a bit of a skate fan i think im startin to agree with ya so ill stop talkin bout it.infact ill stop talkin.

Yeah in general I think we're all getting fed up wit the triangle....and Kate has been annoying me a lot lately too.....she used to be such a strong character, but she just hasn't been recently.

In my opinion theres been some really bad writing in regards to Kate's character, she's going down th Charlie road (interesting character at first but becoming less and less important as time goes on)

Yeah, Kate has been getting weaker for a while not but it's really obvious this season.....it's getting annoyed as I love Lost but a few things make me really annoyed at it....

Well when its characters your not really bothered about then thats fine with me but with a character like Kate who's so used to being involved right in the thick of the show's plot then you wonder what has gone wrong. The writers shouldn't be so careless really, its not good for anyone.

I'd say a lot of the characters could be better developed - I even liked Claire in that episode last season where we foudn out she was Jack's sister, she seemed a lot less boring, but she's been moved into the background again now....

Yeah i can see why really, i think most lost fans in general r as well as now.ive stil neva really considerd it to be a triangle tho cos to b thers nothing ther with her n jack, she jus hero worships him and manipualtes an uses him really as she does with sawyer.i mean i always went for the kate side cos ther was always so much more chemistry between em n they had more in common n i thought she had genuinue feelings for sawyer at one point but now im not so sure.i think shes jus in denial.she should etiher except she loves him n they should b togther or sod off n leave the poor guy alone, which its kinda lookin like what she does at the mo. i jus dont like her destroyin him like she is.i mean yea he can b a bit of a prat n a rogue at times but hes a lovable one an at lest he's honest bout what he feels n what he wants

Yeah I hate it when that happens, I know a lot of folk here don't really like Claire but how could they really?! She's basically an extra who gets a promotion picture every season and never had a storyline longer than an episode.

Yeah, she generally acts whiny and annoying, in that episode she actually started to have a character....then they didn't develop it beyond that at all, till it gets to the stage where she's not mentioning Charlie just a few days after he dies?
I agree bagels, if you look through old threads here there's a load of stuff from myself a few other members about why the Jate relationship is so unhealthy....Sawyers character is another one that has suffered recently though, after everything that happened to him in S3 I'd have expected more but he hasn't figured prominently

The thing with Kate and Sawyer (In this episode too) at least their relationship is evolving quickly and a lot of issues are being raised in coversation ie Sawyer pointing out Kate Runs to Jack, the pregnancy etc.
With Kate and Jack it took nearly four seasons for Jack to say he loved Kate. Its a case of them having nothing more than what they had in the beginning.

Yeah that's true, but while things are said easier between Sawyer and Kate her reactions don't always fit with what her character is supposed to be (although admittedly more than they do with Jack)

I don't understand any of her actions, its one of the things I love most about Kate but it annoys me from time to time. I think her unpredictability needs to be channelled right (at jacks head preferably).
I'd still rather watch them then the Jack/Kate moments of awkward silences (last agggggggggggeesss) and Jack pulling Kate around on a leesh.

yeah, her doing what Jack says all the time really gets to me, as when you look at her flashbacks (especially the one where she tried to be married and play happy families) that's just not how she is at all....
Unpredictability is one thing but she's gone beyond that recently I think, she's just stopped making sense as a character and I really thought this episode was going to change that but it didn't.

Yeah Kate needs to have reason over what she does, the same as how Sawyer has reasons for how he is etc. She really needs to open her mouth and explain what she's doing and what she wants so we can begin to understand her again.

Yeah, as she used to be of my favourite characters *sigh*
I know they want to introduce the freighter people but with good enough writng they should be able to easily do that and at the same time develop and maintain the characters they've already gone to so much trouble to create.....they did it in the first few episodes when we didn't know who anyone was after all.....

Maybe he found out that his Dad had cheated on his mum to father Claire you mean, and he couldn't see Aaron because it would hurt his mum if she found out or something?
Watched this again last night, realised it made sense why Kate wouldn't sleep with Sawyer AND knew for definite all of a sudden that she wasn't pregnant....pretty obvious really, can't believe I missed it first time around! Suppose it could also account for her being hormonal?
