Echo (Dushku) is an "Active," a member of a highly illegal and underground group of individuals who have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas. Hired by the wealthy, powerful and connected, the Actives don’t just perform their hired roles; they wholly become – with mind, personality and physiology – whomever the client wants or needs them to be. Whether imprinted to be a lover, an assassin, a corporate negotiator or a best friend, the Actives know no other life than the specific engagements they are in at that time. In the series premiere episode, Echo is hired by a businessman to be the ultimate kidnapping negotiator when his young daughter is abducted. Meanwhile, FBI Agent Paul Ballard (Tahmoh Penikett) risks his career in his search for the elusive Dollhouse.

people keep telling me I should watch True Blood, (I think that's what it's called!) which is about vampires, and I keep saying yeah I will, and then not actually watching it. I just don't watch TV much! Have other things to do! I think Being Human is the only thing I watch on TV at the mo. Apart from Lost, and that's not on tv!

Started downloading this today, it's the whole series so will probably take a few days, might be weekend before I start watching it. Got hubby convinced on this one anyway.

Yeah I know what you mean, I was feeling like we didn't do much with the long weekend, since we mostly just watched films and the rest of True Blood...made up for it today though with the walk and the cleaning and now got some work to do....no writing though  But maybe later.
Hopefully I'll get addicted too! Is it exciting?

Yeah I think so. There's a fair bit of fighting in it and I totally love Eliza Dushku, if she was a man I'd so have her babies. Plus the characters are interesting and there's been a few twists so far. And the whole concept is really good too... the fact that they wipe these people's memories and then imprint them with new memories so they think they're someone else and use them for all sorts of things.
The woman who runs the Dollhouse is always saying that the people volunteered and she's doing it for the good of them and all that... And the last ep I've just seen sort of explains why someone would want to be a Doll... I won't give it away!

I don't remember her very well from Buffy, ages since I saw an ep with her in it. But yeah the concept did sound good at the time, and if it's exciting and there's twists and all I reckon i could get into it.

I think I missed her in Buffy, I don't remember her in it at all.
It's not massive Lost-stylee twists, but they are nice little ones that I didn't guess were coming.

Little twists are good too, I just like it when I get caught out, with some shows it's just so obvious what's coming and I hate that!
She's in Buffy a few times, over various series...I just haven't seen any Buffy in ages I think!

My sis left her Lost series 1 and 2 boxsets here, we started watching them but then stopped....think we'll watch them over Xmas, she has 3 somewhere as well and I think a friend has 4 and someone will probably get 5 so we'll catch up before it starts again.

Yeah, when sis is home we'll probably watch a pile of eps! I didn't like 4 but I thought 5 was mostly good again. I'd need to catch up before the new series starts though, I never remember half of what happened!

Oh yeah, watched the first five eps of this last night! Quite enjoyed it, wasn't sure what was going on at the start even though I knew a bit about it, there seemed to be an awful lot of characters and so much going on, but they've let the story unfold nicely with each episode having her do a mission thingy and at the same time reveal more of her past and that of the Dollhouse.
The hunter guy in Ep 2 was pure evil! 
Definitely intrigued as to how she ended up there exactly and what's going on with Alpha and the whole concept is pretty cool - sick and twisted, therefore cool in my book!

I love the concept. It goes into it a bit further in later eps, like the good bits and the bad bits about it.

Yeah the Victor thing was a brief WTF moment but there was so much other stuff I didn't pay much attention to that!
The Hunter guy really scared me, it's weird, I can watch all sorts of horror films with gore and monsters and ghosts and demons and all but it's stuff like that that stays with me, when a seemingly normal person turns psycho.
Yep, definitely liked it, going to watch episode 6 now so probably will be caught up with you soon!

So watched Episode 6 last night, definitely getting hints now of a much bigger conspiracy (whoever added to Echo's imprint) and I loved the twist with Milly being a doll, though I had suspected it I didn't think she was a sleeper, the way she was activated was cool!

Yeah it's hard to really like the dolls as they don't have much of a personality - they're all good actors though since they have to play so many roles! Sierra used to be in Neighbours, I knew I knew her from somewhere, had to look her up on IMDB eventually as it was driving me crazy!

I looked her up too cos I couldn't work out her accent, and I thought she pulled off the Australian accent far too well to be an actual American! So I found out she was in Neighbours, but I've never seen her before.

I only watch Neighbours every now and then but I remembered her once I realised who she was as she played a sister of these two characters who don't look at all Asian.
Yeah Americans are generally crap at accents! Drives me mad when they try to do an Irish one!

Watched Eps 7 & 8 last night. 7 is the one with the drug that sends everyone mad and 8 is the one with the fake breakout thing. Lots more about the conspiracy and the history, it's getting really good!

That's the second message he got from them, the first was when Echo beat him up, just before we found out November/Milly was a dol when that nasty rapist guy went to kill her. I keep trying to work out who on the inside is working against them....the doctor is too obvious, I'm thinking maybe Topher's assistant?

Well it says on Wikipedia they're working on the 11th episode now so they'll have time to end it....but probably not the way they origially planned!
I think it's on on Friday nights in the States, which is a stupid night really, it's no wonder there aren't enough people watching it.

Yeah, it didn't get much publicity at all, they never really gave it a chance! I'll keep my eye out for a petition and stuff, want to avoid the fan sites for now though so I don't read spoilers!

I'm still not understanding who Mr Dominic was working for?! Was it Alpha? And if it was, why did he want to kill Echo? Also, was it Alpha who used November and Echo to send the messages to Paul? I'm confuzzled!
One of the spoilers I saw was that November was no longer an active, so I knew she left.
