DanielleAccording to Danielle's story, she came to the island more than 16 years ago, as the story is set in 2004 that means she supposedly arrived in 1988.
According to Lostpedia the watch that Ben is wearing at the time of the purge was first made in 1992 (ok this might have been an oversight, but let's say it wasn't)
This would suggest that Dharma were still very much in operation when she got there, and adds to speculation that's already out there that she and her team of scientists were in fact heading for the island in the first place, as part of the Dharma initiative.
So did she and her team land on the wrong part of the island and meet the Others instead of the Dharma initiative people?
How did the Dharma Initiative not pick up her signal if they were still operational at the time?
Maybe the 1992 watch thing was an oversight, if so, coudl it still be that she was a leftover from the time of the purge, that Alex was kidnapped and she somehow survived the gas attack, and that that was the sickness that she referred to?
I don't know, I've only seen the first part of the new episode, but this just came to me while I was having lunch, it's not really cohesive enough to put in the theories section yet but I'll keep thinking about it, comments appreciated!
