Buffy the Vampire SlayerAny fans here?I loved this show, shame it finished, beetter than letting it drag on forever I suppose, I loved the humour in it as well as the ass-kicking and vampire staking, the storlines were good and i liked how it evolved from Buffy being a precocious teenager into a mature young woman with responsibility for her sister. i never got into Angel to the same extent, it wasn't that I didn't like it but it was only on on sky which I don't have, so I never saw more than the first series. |

Totally agree about Spike! James Marsters is fit!! Strangely, I only like him with the bleached blonde hair!
I've never seen the first few series of Buffy, only seen the last two. I thought it was great though, wanna get it all on dvd but tis mega bucks! |

Spike was better because he was darker than Angel, Angel was never as interesting because he couldn't be such a bad boy, the episodes I liked best with him in were the ones that were set in the past when he and Spike and Drusilla and the other one, whatever her name was, were in a vampire gang and Angel hadn't got his soul back yet, so he was a proper badboy, the rest of the time he was a bit too much like Jack in Lost, the tortured hero type, doesn't do a thing for me, too much self-righteousness. | ||

Mmm, what is it about that that some women go mad for? I was horrified to see that Jack was man of the year or whatever it was in cosmo...I don't know the full details as the mag is about €10 and if I'm going to spend that I'll but a book, not a magazine, but I had a quick flick through it in the newsagents and I was disappointed. | ||

You'll definitely have to let us know what he's like in real life, i hope it doesn't spoil the illusion, but I suppose the actor James Marsters probably wanted to change his appearance a bit to get away from Spike once Buffy was over, so many actors do this, fear of getting typecast, but I'll always love him as Spike. |

Oh my god u guys i no im a bit late in coming to this topic, think its pretty much closed now but i am so in love with spike.hes gorgeous an dark an cheekboned and jus generally wow. he could vampirise me any day, yes please. i was also a bit late to gettin into buffy an only really did so once i noticed mr marsters, was never really into th earlier series when it was in tv an that. but now with th great power at my fingertips that is the internet ive been watchin seasons 5-7 online, tho a few eps r missin. i also agree about angel so do not see th attraction ther he's jus a bore, spikes got so much more character an bad boy appeal uno. again im with u guys on th hole not really into him as james thing, i mean obvoiuosly hes stil an atractive man but not in th same way as he is when hes spike, like angelfairy said i think its to do with the hair, and also the accent. he sounds much much better when hes pretending to b british, do not like the american voiceyness. | ||

I always put Buffy into the same bracket as 90210 or other lame stuff like that, so I never really started watching it until season 5ish. Then I had to buy all the box sets to catch up! |

I saw it from about season 3 onwards and caught up with most of the episodes through late night repeats, not sure if I have a favourite series but I was only a really dedicated watcher by the fourth I think, I always turned the theme up full blast on the Tv as well! | ||

I bought the season 7 box set the otha day,(i wanted to get seasons 5 and 6 as well cos alot of those eps r missing online but they dint have em in any of the shops i looked in an i didnt have the money anyway) and i have to say alot of time that should have been better spent doing college assignments and what not has insted been spent in the company of the spikester.its soo sad about the hole soul thing. that scene in the church my god it was heartbreaking, i jus wanted to kick her up the back side and get her to hug him at least or something, i mean for god sake women he did that for you god she makes me so angry, like kate. i managed to calm myself down by concentratin on the mighty fine torso thou i must say. for those of u who r more familar wiv the hole history of buffy cos ive not really seen anything before towards th end of season 4, can i ask sorry to mention the unwanteds name but how did angel get his soul or wotevea? and did he like die cos hes sorta not around from season 4 onwards is he. oh an AR i love the theme tune as well its so cool i always try an sing along to it an i love the bit when james masters comes up, those clips od him r goregeous | ||

Angel got his soul back way back in like 1800 or something, it was a curse of some kind put on him (I can't remember the details) I think by a gypsy for killing his daughter? Then when he and Buffy slept together it went away again, making him bad (briefly) he pops up a few times in the later shows, initially he goes to Hell because Buffy has to send him there, but then he gets his soul back and moves to LA, knowing Buffy could never be with him again, and he got his own TV show (Angel) Cordelia from Buffy was in that too, but it was axed after a few seasons. |

ok i have to say the otha day i manganged to find the episode wher angel goes all badass cos of sleeping with buffy and she has to send him into hell or whateva, and can i jus say he is such a ponce (hope i dont offend anyone by sayin that i jus cant think of a beta word atm), but i mean seriously what did she eva see in him. that hole scene was soo lame and he was jus bein such a crybaby bout it, good ridduns to him id say at least wen spikes bein good hes stil got that hole edge about him angel was jus bein a total lovestruck wus.oh i loved th part in that ep tho wher spike n buffy told her mum they wer in a band.soo funny.thanks for the info AR by th way very helpful. but from what u told me i now hav anutha query.if buffy hada slept with spike in season 7 (which i think is a great misfortune that she dint an all i mean specially if u think th worlds gona end but anyway) dya think he wuda lost his soul an gone all badass as well? oh an does angel have a son? how th hell did that hapen? | ||

There was somehting about Angel and....what was she called? Darla or something? having a kid but I don't really remember, I was never that interested in him at all, so when the episodes were about him i didn't pay as much attention, as for Spike going bad again if he and Buffy had slept together I don't know, they did it a good few times anyway and it didn't seem to have any effect!
Yeah Angel is a wuss, he's so incredibly boring and *ooh I'm so tortured, I have such a hard time of it, I love the Slayer, boohoo poor me* it sure as hell is annoying. Buffy was better since he left the show. |

Ah, not sure how to get them onto the computer from dvds. I downloaded the torrents of Trapdoor. (I had a dream about Trapdoor the other night!!) Maybe I'll have a lookit for some Buffy eps to download meself. The eps are quite long though aren't they? That's always a pain in the ass! | ||

If u guys all want a way to watch some eps without having to go out and buy em ive been watching em all from tv links or alluc.org. So annoying! I wouldn't mind if they were good but they aren't generally, and most of the time there's ghostwriters involved anyway! it just lowers the standards and it makes it a lot harder for real writers (i.e. you and me) to get published! Especially as we're women because then there's this attitude that all women can write is stupid chick lit and romantic fiction BS and therefore no one will buy anything else by a women - which is only because of the way they bloody market stuff! *trying to take deep breaths to calm down!* | ||

That's exactly right!! I've heard loads of stuff from people on other forums etc. saying they'll only buy fantasy written by men cos women make it too romantic or whatever! Crap! Which is why a lot of female fantasy authors change their names (Robin Hobb) or just use their initials (JV Jones) so you don't know whether they're male or female. Tis stupid. | ||

I know, it's so stupid! It happens with literary fiction too, people think that just because it's written by a women it must be romantic crap, they'll buy an Ian McEwan or Martin Amis novel no problem if they want a serious and reflective read, but they wouldn't consider something equally as good and thought provoking if it's written by a women. Stupid publishers. More and more I'm getting drawn to the idea of self publishing.
