What happened when the hatch imploded

I thought of this theory and it works.

When the hatch imploded.... it made everyone in the close vicinity (2 islands) became vulnerable.

Others: Communication went down.
Jack: Lost Kate to another man and then chose to stay with the others.
Kate: Forced to work and choose between the two men she loves
Sawyer: Forced to work, beaten up by pickett.
Locke: lost faith so has been on a mission to get back at the island ie. blowing up stuff and

Also lost his voice for a short time
Desmond: Can see the future but this lands him with responsibiliy and he's vulnerable to making mistakes.
Charlie: He's going to die.
Rose: (Theory) Her cancer will come back.
Ben: Not healing properly.
Eko (RIP): He faced the monster and won in ep 10. but after the hatch implosion he faced it and died.
Sayid: Was shot in the arm by Michael.
Claire: Nearly drowned

It's an interesting theory but it doesn't really work for me, partly because of the fact that plenty of bad things happen before the hatch imploded as well - Charlie was strung up from a tree, Claire was kidnapped, drugged and held prisoner, Boone died, Shannon died, Walt was kidnapped and held prisoner, plenty of the tailies were kidnapped or killed, Ana and Libby were killed, Michael felt forced to betray his friends, Kate's been rocking back and forth between Jack and Sawyer since midway through season1....Desmond might be seeing the future but he's not stuck in a hatch, Walt was nearly eaten by a polar bear, the raft was burned, Sawyer was tortured, Sayid was tortured....it doesn't seem like what's happened since is any worse to be honest.
