Looks like Jack's back Don't see why really. Ben's the one leading the "go back to the island" thing. Desmond and Locke and Daniel too. He's so not necessary....

He's not! He's only in it cos Kate's in it I reckon, it's like those two have their own separate soap opera. I reckon kill them both and have done with it.

Well I think all 6 have to go back to the island for that whole thing to work, but they could just be in the background, rather than in it as such...like we know they're there but they never have any lines or anything!
